Willenhall manager Dean Edwards is at a loss to explain his team’s baffling inconsistency.
The Lockmen have beaten Chasetown and drawn with second placed Leamington in recent months.
But at the same time have been by bottom team Berkhamsted Town – the Hertfordshire side’s only victory of the season – which sums up the Reds’ startling peaks and troughs this season.
They travel to Leighton Town tomorrow, who are on an unbeaten run of seven matches at home and suffered their first loss in 14 last Saturday to Evesham.
Edwards believes it’s the kind of match Willenhall are likely to go and win.
“You just never know with us which team is going to turn up,” Edwards said.
“We could easily go to Leighton and win 1-0, we’re consistently inconsistent.
“Leighton are a strong, competitive, well organised side and we’ll have to be prepared for a battle.”
