South Korean star Kim Do-Heon is keen to commit his long-term future to Albion – and manager Tony Mowbray has hinted an extended deal is already on the cards.
The 25-year-old, who made his debut against Coventry on Saturday, says he wants to stay at The Hawthorns for “as long as possible”.
And Mowbray seems ready to consider making his loan move permanent after Kim caught the eye on the training ground.
“Now I am here I am attracted by this team and I want to stay here for as long as possible,” said Kim, speaking through an interpreter.
“I want to help this team get into the Premier League.
“That is the first thing I want to do and then to stay here for the long term.”
And Mowbray hinted he is already considering a longer-term deal for Kim regardless of how often he plays this season.
“I am pretty sure he can make an impact,” said Mowbray. “I judge footballers on what I see in training as well as in games.
“If I like him in training every day and yet his opportunities on the field are limited for whatever reason, I would like to think I will look beyond six months.
“If I can see there is a talented player there, which I can start to see now, his future will be bright here.
“I am a coach who likes technical players and Kim is very definitely a technical player.”
Kim has signed for Albion initially on a six-month loan from 2006 South Korean champions Seongnam Ilhwa.
And he revealed how ex-Wolves midfielder Seol Ki-Hyeon, his international team-mate and current Fulham player, convinced him to move to Albion.
“Seol told me that by playing the Championship I could learn about the basic English football style.
“And even though it is the Championship the football skills are more tough and powerful than in Korea.”

Top Player.. lets hope he gets a chance…
He looks technically gifted, but his physique is very small, one part of our squad which i think we lack is physical strength.
If we sign anymore shorties we could start singing hi ho hi ho its off to work we go as they come out the tunnel!!!!
Bomber, that made the tears roll I laughed so much. Brilliant! Ossie Ardiles was only tiny but the opposition reckoned he was like marking dust, so while the ’shortie’ is young and quick, he’ll survive. You can’t call Koren or Texeira big but they’re never there when you call.
Bomber - BRILLIANT !!!!
If someone shouts “HI-Ho” from the BRE and its shouted back from the smethwick followed by the whole ground going into the song….. how cool would that be ?
We could even do a conga on our kness on the last day - or am i getting carried away ??
H_B
I think you are getting carried away mate.
You mentioned a shout from the BRE…..now that would be cool!!
Do like the idea though bomber although i don’t think “as they come out the tunnel goes”
we may need to add some different lyrics.
Any Ideas????
If we all sing Hi-Ho maybe our new Korean lad will think we don’t know his name..
Anyway - possible lyrics..
Hi - Ho….
Hi - ho, hi - ho, a team led by To-Mo
With goals galore, we always score
Hi-ho, hi ho hi hi hi ho…
Hi ho ho
its to the prem we go
with 3 up front
and chrissy brunt
hi ho (etc..)
A poor attempt - but its a start…
Don’t think the moderator liked my 1st attempt
Hi ho hi ho, it’s off to work we go
With Koren and Ish, we’ll beat the Wolves (think of another word for Wolves beginning with an S)
Hi ho Hi ho (blah blah blah)
Did like your idea of the 1st attempt Happy, maybe a little touching up, with the 1st line leading up to the To-Mo bit.
WORCESTER we will start the song off ok,BOING BOING GOING UP THE MOWBURY WAY
Tony - keep the touching up to yourself mate…
terry - not sure you have totally grasped this yet…
(getting ready for next season…)
Hi ho, hi ho
we follow the ToMo
With a wave and a smile
we beat the vile
Hi-ho (etc..)
Its not getting any better is it…..
Nope mate it ain’t getting better, I think you need the medication I was offered on another thread.
Terry you may need more than the medication I was offered.
Tony - having just read your luke moore “song” on another thread I will take no critisism of my attempts from pal !!!
(actually it made me laugh - fair play)
“If we all sing Hi-Ho maybe our new Korean lad will think we don’t know his name..” Will you lot pack it in, my missus is sick of washing wet pants!
