Staffordshire villagers are up in arms over inconsiderate motorists who park outside their homes to catch a train.
Train passengers can block the driveways of people living in Penkridge, near to the railway station and clog the streets by parking on both sides.
David Kidney MP has now organised a meeting to try to find a solution.
Video journalist Victoria Hoe went to film the area and speak to residents.

Continually blaming motorists for this problem is ridiculous. The police and various local councils have been asked repeatedly by passengers to solve this problem and they have refused. This is a nice little earner for Staffordshire police who have time to constantly patrol the area ticketing vehicles for minor parking infringements. The council has ignored requests to build a car park and the now defunct Central Trains made matters worse by repainting the lines in the car park to reduce the number of bays available.
This is yet another example of the stupidity of transport policy in the UK. We are taxed and taxed and told to stop driving to work. Then when you try and use public transport the various authorities do as much as possible to stop you from travelling.
so taking the train just moves the parking problem elsewhere. How sustainable!
If you parked outside my drive..regardless of you catching a train id be out and youd be clamped or id have you hooked up to my chelsea tractor and i would tow you off and dump your car in a field or lane!..Its not my problem.I pay for the privilage of having a home with a private drive its not for the people who ride the train…im not employed to watch your vehicle.Park your car down the road in the lay by where the truckers park.Walk to your train.
The idiots that keep blocking the people in by the train station have left sick people unable to get out to the doctors and to the chemist for medicine..They werent concerned then!..SO WHY SHOULD ANYONE BE SYMPATHETIC TO YOU TRAIN RIDERS!!
