Walsall set for Dann windfall

Walsall defender Scott DannScott Dann will become Walsall’s largest grossing sale after moving to Coventry for a total of £1 million.

The amount of the initial down-payment for Dann is not known, but the fee Saddlers can receive for the player will total £1m if and when the performance related add-ons are met.

The clubs have officially classed the fee as undisclosed, but sources at the Ricoh Arena have confirmed it as a seven-figure sum.

This eclipses the £800,000 that Walsall eventually received from Bolton for Michael Ricketts, taking into account add-ons in the same manner as the Dann deal.

Sources have also confirmed that the Dan Fox transfer package will be worth a total of £500,000, which, combined with the fee for Dann, may go some way to appeasing fans disappointed at the loss of two of the club’s finest defenders.

Meanwhile, Money has praised Edrissa Sonko for his versatility, after he slotted in next to Darren Wrack in a central midfield role against Leyton Orient.

“I was very pleased with Sonko’s performance,” Money said. “He went in there under difficult circumstances on a difficult pitch and played like the international footballer he is.”

You can just imagine the scene. Jeff calls Roy into his office. He crosses the room and opens the safe.He puts the building society passbook on the desk and says “look at all this lovely money Roy” “What are we going to do with it Jeff?” “Nothing my old mate, absolutely nothing”.

its good and well having 1/12 million quid less the 40% tax that has to paid leaves about 800.000 and thats if the addons work, and then no doubt we,ll be told most of whats left as been paid on the youth devolpment side of things. it makes me wonder is it worth me travelling 250 mile round trip the £30 fuel costs plus match ticket plus food bill.
