Wolves new boy wants top flight

kyle.jpgWolves new boy Kevin Kyle today set his sights on a Premiership return – and bagging a permanent Molineux deal in the process.

Boss Mick McCarthy has already told the former Scottish international that he will earn a move to Wolves if he makes a big impact during his four-month loan deal, a pledge that is spurring the striker on.

Kyle wants a fresh start after suffering a nightmare spell at Coventry, where he scored just five goals in 27 starts and was heckled by his own fans after being sent off a fortnight ago.

“Whether I stay here until the end of the season or beyond is up to me now because I know that Mick would like to sign me if I do well,” he said.

“If I have to go back to Coventry, then so be it.

“I’ll knuckle down and try to do well, but I’m just going to enjoy my time here and see how it goes.”

Kyle – who hailed his transfer to Wolves as a “dream move” yesterday – is now targeting a return to the top flight alongside McCarthy, the man he feels got the best out of him when they worked together at Sunderland.

Kyle made his bow in a Wolves shirt last night with half a game as the reserves beat Port Vale’s second string at Telford.

But he is set to be involved straight away with a place on the bench at Watford on Saturday.

“I think promotion is a realistic aim,” he said. “I’m surprised that they had that dip in form.

“They’ve managed to pick up a bit in the last few games and they’ve made a really good signing in Ebanks-Blake, who has has got off to a really good start with a couple of goals. It’s something I’d like to do.

“There is no reason why Wolves shouldn’t go one further than they did last season and actually get promoted this season.

“The fans deserve to be in the Premiership.”

Don’t usually rise to the bait and yes we’ve got our fair share of idiots, but a lot of genuine fans do as much as you do. Doesn’t mean I think we’ve got a right to be, but don’t really understand your point.

unlike some, who spend most of their lives here.

I’ve not seen much of KK in action, but i’m assuming he’s pretty good with his head, and when MJ and MK are flying down the wings putting crosses in, we’ll need someone with heading ability.

Although disagree strongly with your point, that is part of the fun and you’re always welcome to comment on here.

Reading an interview with KK it sounds like the Coventry fans gave him a rough ride - I guess it’s up to us Wolves fans to give him better support and hope that it is reciprocated with some good performances and perhaps a few goals? I concede that I was very surprised by MM signing him but as long as he does his bit then I will be happy. Welcome to Molineux Kevin, hope you enjoy it.

This is one comment i don’t feel the need to defend.

There were over 200 posts on 2 stories involving KK yesterday - and at least 90% of them were moaning - moaning about the player and about the club (again) for signing him… then next day he says he thinks the fans are great and here you all are defending him…

Honestly, brass neck don’t cover it.

p.s - the only reason i come on here so often is because it IS boring on our pages… there are only so many contented and happy bloggs I can read - yours are much more fun.
