No fear of Cole for Albion

robbo2.jpgPaul Robinson today ordered Albion to show no fear when goalscoring legend Andy Cole arrives at The Hawthorns with Burnley on Saturday.

The former England man joined the Clarets this week on loan from Sunderland and is primed for his debut against the Baggies.

But Robinson insists facing the ex-Manchester United and Newcastle star will hold no fears for the Albion defenders.

“Andy Cole is an experienced player,” said Robinson. “But you can’t be scared by the name.  We’ll give him a bit of respect – but not too much respect.”

Albion will return to action at The Hawthorns looking to banish memories of Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat by Preston, where they were undone by two set-piece goals.

And Robinson is confident that the Baggies’ fighting spirit will shine through.

He said: “Our players are all strong mentally. We get disappointed by losses, but we don’t dwell on them for too long.

“We always bounce back and go into the next game stronger mentally. We’ve got an important home game now.

“It’s good to be back at The Hawthorns because we know the fans will be right behind us and hopefully it will spur us on to get three points.”

“At Preston we found a keeper who was in top form. He saved everything.

“He tipped Zoltan Gera’s free-kick onto the bar when on another day it would have found the top corner.

“We have to pick ourselves up for Saturday and take the game to Burnley at home.”

And Robinson is hoping leading scorer Kevin Phillips can shake off a calf injury to return to the side against the Clarets.

He said: “Hopefully he’ll be back training and raring to go on Saturday.  He is a big player for us and we do miss him. But we’ve managed to come away with wins from other games without him.”

Ade. Looking at your pseudonym I’m very scared, especially if you’re behind me. Not sure you should be boasting about it though.

7,000 clarets, that’s about what I’ve put away so far this year and you sound more p—-d than me. Don’t be so despondant, I think you might stay up.
