Birmingham City fail in midfielder bid

mcleishmics1.jpgBirmingham City boss Alex McLeish have been forced to give up on signing Georgian international midfielder Levan Tskitishvili from Greek side Panionios.

Blues had hoped to land the player on loan for the rest of the season, yet they have had to cancel the deal after the 31-year-old was refused a work permit.

“We haven’t got permission to sign Levan,” assistant manager Roy Aitken said. “That has been knocked backed which is a disappointment.”

Meanwhile, 18-year-old defender Krystian Pearce has joined Port Vale on loan for one month.

Keeper Artur Krysiak has joined Scottish Premier League side Gretna on loan for the rest of the season.
