With four days remaining of the January transfer window Albion manager Tony Mowbray was forced to respond to a flurry of speculation.
The Baggies boss hinted at a possible deal for Scottish winger Graeme Dorrans this week but played down talk of Chris Brunt leaving.
And he admitted that John Hartson could be poised to leave while Neil Clement could still depart on loan.
Mowbray played down weekend media reports that Reading are lining up a move for winger Brunt.
He said: “There’s been absolutely no contact with Reading.”

We want to keep our better players not sell them and Chris Brunt is starting to find is feet at the Albion now after a quite start.
Brunt knows in his own mind that he has a fantastic opportunity to play Premiership football with West Brom, He looks happy enough, I believe Brunt will still be a West Bromwich Albion player come February
Albion need to keep Brunt especially when they have a target man like Bednar and a far post poacher in Gera in the team.
