Dudley Sports wasted a great opportunity to go top of the table after loosing out in a fiercely completive game against fourth placed Wednesfield on Saturday.
Sports started the brighter of the two sides and could have gone in front as early as the fourth minute when Chris Raybone raced clear only to be denied his goal by an outstretched goalkeeper’s foot.
Wednesfield did have a great chance themselves but in form striker Mitch Fellows blasted high and wide when thru on goal with no one around him.
Sports nearly took the lead when a corner from Grant Joshua was firmly met by striker Ross Harris.
His header was heading for the top corner of the net but was cleared of the line by the defender standing on the post.
The half time whistle blew with both sets of players having to be dragged apart after a bust up on the half way line.

After the half time bust up both sets of players settled back down to playing football with out further incident.
Sports were again first to waste another great chance when Anthony Cox fired wide when it looked easier to score after being put clear thru by James Beddard.
Sports then started to dominant the game and another Ant Cox shot was cleared of the line.
The turning point came when Chris Raybone raced into the penalty box and should have played in the un-marked Ross Harris but he only managed to find the only defender within twenty yards of him.
Wednesfield to there credit kept going and got the deciding break thru when a routine ball into the Sports penalty area lead to a poor clearance which fell to Wednesfields Dan Mason inside the box.
The forward then fired in a shot that hit the bar and bounced over the line in this in the last five minutes of the game.
Sports tried but could not find a way back, this was hard on Sports but when you don’t take your chances you are always likely to concede, and it is something Sports have to sort out quickly.
