Two goals from veteran defender Neil Brannon gave the cheesemen three points to keep them top of the league.
But this was a very poor game that was not helped by a very heavy pitch and with Wombourne trying to brake up the play by stop and start football also the ref who wouldn’t go a miss in a comic strip with the game dying on its feet Mark Cooper hit a shot that must have travelling at 90 miles an hour from 25 yards to make the score 1-0.
But the dogs of war where more like sleeping pussy cats then from a corner that was not cleared the ball came out to Hale he crossed to the back post and Brannon came homing in and hit a built header into the roof of the net to make the half time score 2-0.
In the second half the game was much the same as the first half as Cooper and Rogers missed good chances to see the home side off
When asked about the game Padda Brewster said: “Well we got in got out and got three points what more can I say if you play bad and win what more do you want I’m disappointed with the boys overall play but sometimes you never get what you want in football.”
After the game the cheesemen went to the round oak pub they all seemed relaxed and 1 or 2 of them supervised Lee Mincher playing on the swings and slide.
By the way his dad said it was ok for to play in the park so don’t worry.
Next week is the Ashmore Park derby when the True Briton come to the ponder don’t miss this one.
