Interesting that Inverness are interested in Dorrans - will this encourage Albion to take a gamble and get him during this window ?

You would imagine the lad would be prepared to hang on knowing the baggies are interested in him…

Nice to see the Wolves have wrapped up all these signings they were after (Fox, Sadler etc…).

Other than Handsveit (spelling?) Wolves themselves haven’t claimed to be after any other players and it has been merely paper talk. Had a player on trial but obviously chose not to take him up. As for the others, why would they have wrapped them up, if they weren’t in for them.

Hope you win your battle with Inverness.

I didn’t realise that Wolves had come out and said that we were after Fox, Sadler etc.

Keep the news coming HB/E&S I only take note of who the Wolves CONFIRM they have signed.

2 & 3 - I know it was just paper talk…. It was just funny to read the Wolves fans responding to these rumours and saying how / where the players would fit in (and who they should replace) - and then they go else where.

It wasn’t a nasty comment - just a bit of fun on a slow footy day.

Who said we were after Fox and Saddler? There have been a couple of unsubstantiated speculative rumours, none of which seemed to come from any reliable source. Even the E&S hasn’t bothered pursuing them.
The club itself has already announced that it is unlikely there will be any more new signings before the end of the transfer window. Many fans would like to see a central defender to strengthen the squad but I don’t know of many who think a new left back is a priority (surprising that most of the rumours have been about left backs). I personally don’t know that Fox is any improvement on the players we already have at the club anyway, particularly when you consider Daniel Jones looks set to come back from a very successful loan spell.

Would be good if we can get Taylor he could do a good job for us. Also still need this keeper.

BBB 6 - my only concern would be in unsettling the squad we have…

If we do go out and get a new CB, what message is this giving to our current players… we are top of the league and looking likely to be promoted and STILL we are looking to replace you ?

That same message could be taken on by players in midfeild, attack etc.. and instead of keeping players on their toes it could damage the fine balance between competition for places and harmony that we have now.

I’m all for getting good players - but we need to keep the entire squad (or dressing room) together - not splitting it for the sake of it.

Does that make any sense ??

Fair comment, but great sides don’t sit on what they’ve got, shouls always look to improve.

Has 6 not done what you accused us of?

  10. Spuggy Baggie said:

HB, whilst harmony and team spirit are at an all time high we should not rule out signing new players. TM has so far done an excellent job in ensuring players fit in with the rest of the team both on and off the pitch, so there’s no reason why we can’t strngthen without upsetting the apple cart.

Building a good squad is itterative. If you continue to strengthen, today’s star player will slowly be further and further down the pecking order. This gives them the option of either accepting it or working harder to regain and keep their place. In a winning team, players want to be a part of it so strengthening should only increase the work ethic.

I was saddened yesterday hearing the news of the death of five-year-old Wolves fan Alex White from a brain tumour.
My prayers & thoughts to his family.
    R.I.P. Little fella.
    God Bless

Realist 9 - yeas… thats what these rumour pages are for. I only laughed at you cos so many of you were pinning your hopes on getting new players - I think our situation is slighlty different.

BBB & Spuggy - as I say, as long as we keep our balance and harmony them of course we will need to improve - just not sure now is the right time with so much at stake.

Oh well, TM has proven a master at getting these things right so I shouldn’t worry.

Also hear that Hearts are interested in Dorrans.

Right i think Taylor would be a good signing for us a she has a lot of experience and he is the type of player we need to sort out are def. I cant see him staying here for long but would help us up to prem.

Word on the street, Police Squad, now there was a programme.
    Happy and the rest.
I’m more than content to leave the decision on signings to the management, that’s if the management is TM and not JP.
