Perched high above the canal and the bustle of The Mailbox in the city centre, the 17-storey MAKE-designed building sits on a glass base of retail boutiques and canalside restaurants such as the Epernay Bar, pictured above.
But at what cost? To live in that city you have to be extremely rich - you have to be very well off just live anywhere half-decent in this area.
Given the choice between a shark-infested island like this, I’m sure a lot of potential tenants will simply opt for cheaper, more spacious environments. Birmingham needs to get it’s act together if it wants to attract people and this isn’t the way forward, not for the majority. I’d rather live in a big house in Europe.
