Schoolboy Lateef Elford-Alliyu could become Albion’s youngster ever player tomorrow after being drafted in to the FA Cup squad for the trip to Peterborough.
The Nigerian-born stri-ker, aged 15, has been added to the 18-man travelling party for the trip to London Road as cover for the absent Ishmael Miller, Zoltan Gera and Jared Hodgkiss.
The England under-16s international is already the youngest player to represent Albion and to score for the club – achieving both in the pre-season win at Stafford Rangers.
And the Dartmouth High School pupil could become the youngest Baggies player in competitive action if he gets on the field tomorrow.
Elford-Alliyu was born in Nigeria but moved to England as a young child and was spotted by Baggies scouts playing in a youth tournament.
He was taken on by the Albion academy after a successful week-long trial.
He played at 15 years and 61 days old and bagged the only goal in Albion’s pre-season win at Stafford Rangers last August.
And four goals in 10 starts for the Under-18s side in the FA Premier Academy League this term have earned him a call-up.

Eh?
Who ?
What?
Already!
Still guess TM knows what he’s up to
Wonder if he will get on to the pitch. If he does will probably get a hat trick no doubt
Suppose its only right we should have some kind of Wonder Kid of our own It was all that was missing from a fantastic rollercoaster of a season
He scored a corker from around the halfway line if I recall correctly…
Give the kid a chance. If your doing crap after an hour, pull him off & replace with someone tried & trusted with fresh legs.
What you got to lose?
I hope he plays - if only to shut up all the wolves fans who bang on about their academy kids (who have all been sold of course).
hall green baggie, ur rite mate he did…we were awful against stafford and he was the only one that deserved anythin. not sure if he’ll make the bench 2mora like but its promising we have youngsters like him and james hurst in the england u-16s init
Happy_baggie how can you compare your “1″ youth player (who’s not proven) to amount we have produced.
Yes we has sold and made alot of money but we still have our fair share who still play and were still producing.
Come on use your noggin before you writing silly thing like that down.
he looks about 30 to me, something fishy going on in sandwell again. maybe they are looking for an excuse if they lose, they can blame the kids
6 & 7
The fact remains that we are much better than the Dingles, with or without kids. What kids have you got playing on a regular basis and whats this ‘lot of money’ you have made. Don’t make me laugh, I could probably break into the Dingles team you don’t have to be any good to do that.
