Parts of Wolverhampton city centre were sealed off today after a member of the public took a hand grenade into Bilston Street police station.
Officers closed Piper’s Row and Tower Street after the grenade was handed in at the station’s front desk at 9.45am. Bomb disposal experts were called in.
The nearby tram station remained open but services were delayed.
