On-fire striker Roman Bednar clinched Albion’s dramatic FA Cup victory - then revealed it was his first ever penalty shoot-out.
Bednar slotted home the decisive 10th penalty of the shoot-out to clinch victory after scoring in the first half of the match to take his Albion tally to nine in as many starts.
“It was a good ending for all of us,” said Bednar. “It was a very difficult game.
“We knew it would be before the game because Charlton are a very good team but we should have kept it at 2-0.
“Charlton showed character and came back and at times we struggled.
“But we did well not to lose the game and the finish was very good.
“I never had never taken part in a shoot-out before so maybe I was just lucky, but I was confident after scoring in the game.
“It’s always easy if you are comfortable and to score a winning goal is always good.
“I the Czech Republic I took penalties, but they were in the game, never afterwards in the penalty shoot-out.
“That was the first time for me in a shoot-out.”
And Bednar said thoughts of the fourth-round trip to Peterborough must now be banished from the players’ minds until after Saturday’s return to Championship action.
“It’s another game that we want to win, maybe more for the supporters than for us, but we are happy that we are in the next round,” said Bednar.
“But I don’t even know when we play at Peterborough because it’s more important now to look at the Cardiff game on Saturday.
“We need to focus on that one now.”
Meanwhile, Charlton manager Alan Pardew was full of praise for the efforts of his team, who have now failed three times to beat Albion this season.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with the team at the moment in terms of their character and commitment,” he said.
“We were trying to win the game, we pushed everyone to try and win it.
“The Charlton fans that were here could see that, and wouldn’t fault our effort tonight.
“We were absolutely brilliant.
“It was a good performance and we were just squeezed out.
“I’m disappointed because I just felt we had so many chances to win the game tonight.
“They are a good side, West Brom, and I thought we matched them in long periods of the game.
And in other times of the game I felt it was our game to win.
“We found ourselves behind with five minutes to go and then in extra-time I thought Dickson might win it for us, but it wasn’t to be.”

After watching both Bednar and Miller in recent weeks I think moga should get Roman signed now before someone else comes in for him in the summer,Still unconvinced by Miller, got plenty of pace and energy but can be lazy. I reckon he needs some good long coaching sessions with super kev to help him become the player we all want him to be.
