With Andy Mitchell suspended, Stewart Mason unavailable and Chip Southern recovering from a recent injury, Danny Crudgington, Oli Meanley and Liam Evans were restored to the starting line up.
Wulfs opened up in lively fashion and controlled the early exchanges but had to wait until the 11th minute to create their first real chance. Fraser Houston turned his man out on the right before playing in a low cross which James Skedgel guided into the path of Simon Hardle but his shot was well blocked by the advancing Matt Sidaway in the Brierley goal.
Two further chances came Wulfs’ way in the next five minutes. First Fraser Houston headed Danny Crudgington’s near post cross just wide and then James Skedgel’s glancing header from Simon Hardle’s free kick was saved at full stretch by Sidaway.
For all Wulfs’ possession and good chances it was Brierley Hill who went very close to taking the lead in the 20th minute.
Wulfs made the most of this lifeline by hitting the back of the net twice in the space of three minutes. In the 24th minute Robin Sheffield won a free kick just outside the area in a central position from which Danny Crudgington fired home via a deflection off the wall to put Wulfs one up.
Then, three minutes later, Mark Tipton fired forward a long free kick from the centre circle and Simon Hardle used his ample backside to hold of his marker and allow the ball to run through for Ricky Anslow to drive home right footed from 12 yards out.
With a two goal lead in the bank, Wulfs consolidated in the fifteen minutes leading up to the interval and no further chances were forthcoming at either end.
The second half started in the same fashion as the end of the first and the only real action came when a ball was slid through to Stuart Hadley but Danny Tipton was out smartly to save his shot although the linesman’s flag had gone up anyway.
Wulfs first show of intent in the second half came in the 64th minute when Simon Hardle cut inside two men before hitting a shot that dipped just in front of the keeper but Sidaway’s handling was good again as he collected well.
A double substitution for both sides in the 67th minute, with Chip Southern and Kyle Brady replacing Liam Evans and Fraser Houston for the home side, seemed to work in Wulfs favour as they made it 3 - 0 just one minute later. Kyle Brady produced a neat flick to Myles Fenn and he crossed in to the area where Ricky Anslow glance headed home.
It was four in the 75th minute as Anslow completed a perfect hat-trick. Danny Crudgington fed a ball forward to Ricky Anslow and he drove forward before smashing home a 20 yard right foot shot to go with his left footer and header.
Two minutes later and it was five. Again Danny Crudgington supplied a long ball over the top and debutant Kyle Brady ran on to it before hitting a crisp first time shot into the corner of the net.
This proved to be the end of the scoring although there was still time for youngster Elliot Fenn to make a debut appearance when he replaced Simon Hardle nine minutes from time.AFC Wulfrunians 5 Brierley Hill & Withymoor 0
