Wolves fans keep the faith

wd2529485reverends-1-gd-01.jpgLifelong Wolves fans Stuart Davis and brothers John and Peter Bates are blessed with a little more faith than most.

The trio, nicknamed The Holy Trinity, are all methodist ministers who have been religiously visiting Molineux for decades.

Yesterday, after winning a charity auction, they ventured on to the hallowed pitch before watching the clash against Sheffield United from the directors’ box.

Rev Davis, aged 60, leads four churches in and around Stourbridge – Wollaston, Gigmill, Kingswinford and New Road, where former player Roy Swinbourne is a member of his congregation. He said: “We’ve been praying for Wolverhampton Wanderers for more than 30 years. We are the shepherds among the Wolves.”

John and Peter, aged 63 and 58 respectively, have season tickets in the Billy Wright stand and are based at methodist churches in Stoke and Birmingham.

The auction was organised by Keith Berry, who Rev Davis met while he was based at Beckminster Church in Birches Barn Road, Wolverhampton, and who has been fundraising in aid of Gelliwig Residential Centre for more than 25 years.

It is evident to see that MM has limitations to his managerial skills, he can only take his teams so far before he is found out, we need a manager who has that final know how to get teams promoted consistently. Managers like Steve Coppell, Paul Jewels and so forth. Even gamble on Paul Ince, he could probably do what Roy Keane did at Sunderland, it can’t be any worse than the torture we witness week in week out. You need to play players on merit not favourites.

Tom, don,t you agree that with this bunch of clowns that we will be fighting for championship survival come the end of the season?? Wouldn,t you say Muppet Mick needs to learn that the rest of the world does not consist only of SUNDERLAND AND IRELAND!!! We need to spend big time to even just about stay in this division. What we do need to do is bring in some top quality European players with some FLAIR, SKILL AND TACTICAL ABILITY!!! But then again what quality players would want to come and join us then be totally demoralised by Mick Mack Paddy Wack McCarthy???
    Nuff Said!!
