The final action before Christmas has seen the first defeat for Division Two leaders Dave Taylor and Dave Semper.
In a high quality and extremely competitive game it was the experienced pairing of Parsons and Anderson who held their nerve to clinch a thrilling 21-20 victory and move to within two points of the leaders.
Nick and John Newey got their season back on track with an impressive 21-12 victory over Gary Parsons and Tony Dodd, and will be hoping to continue this form into the second half of the season.
Kevin and Darryl Handley moved into third with a one sided defeat of Barry Farr and Dan Taylor.
Mel Evans and Lynn Pritchatt continue to sweep all before them in the top division by easing past club mates Cliff Johnson and Mick Jones 21-10.
Murray and Preece responded well to their previous weeks defeat by the leaders with a 21-15 victory over Bill Pitt and Stuart Edwards and maintain their second place.
Dave Hayward and Vic Gray have moved off the bottom spot thanks to a 21-15 victory over Craig Barker and Keith Carter.
Derek and Glyn Storer maintained third spot thanks to a comfortable 21-11 victory over Clive Pittaway and Chris Halford.
Mick Bardsley and Lee Cavill are in total command of division three and maintained their 100 per cent record with a 21-9 victory over their nearest pursuers Sproston and Hugill.
Second spot now belongs to Mick and Phil Colbourne who produced an excellent display to hold off Dave Webb and Ian Roles 21-15.
The battle of the bottom two saw Bates and Sproston defeat Hollis and Lloyd.
