Wolsey in Swifts hotseat

swifts.jpgFormer Stourport skipper Mark Wolsey will take charge of the Swifts for tomorrow’s must-win clash with Berkhamstead after Paul Davies resigned.

Davies quit in the wake of the midweek defeat to Rothwell – prompting chairman Chris Reynolds to instigate another search for a new manager.

The chairman sympathises with Davies and is determined to make the right appointment to take the club forward. He has already pin-pointed a candidate.

“We are obviously all disappointed about it but I think he found the job difficult. He enjoyed the coaching side of things, but the man management and telling players they were dropped didn’t come easily to him,” Reynolds said. “He has big work commitments as well and I think that had an effect as well. We already have someone in mind and I hope to make an appointment soon.”

On the pitch Swifts have doubts over Chris Jay and Chris McCominsky for the game against the division’s rock bottom side – who have won only once this season.
