Hednesford boss Phil Starbuck has signed a new, 18-month contract to stay at Keys Park following an approach from Blue Square North side Worcester.
The 37-year-old former Nottingham Forest striker, who was appointed in May 2006, wasn’t contracted to the Pitmen.
But the Unibond premier division club have now tied him to Keys Park until June 2009 after he rejected the chance to move to a higher level.
“Hednesford gave me permission to speak to Worcester, and I spoke to their chairman Dave Boddy, but I am more than happy to stay here,” said Starbuck.
“I enjoy the people and the place at Hednesford, I love the club. I’m more than happy with what I’m building here.”
