Cable fire hits homes

caution-tape.jpgAround 440 homes were left without power after arsonists set fire to cables above a Black Country railway embankment.

Vandals struck at the site on the Walsall and Sandwell border, at Bentley Road South, Darlaston, and firefighters had to stop the blaze spreading to an 11,000-vault transformer at about 12.15pm yesterday.

No-one was hurt. Electrical suppliers e-on said power was back on in just over an hour.

Police are investigating.

Thousands of fantastic holidays to choose from!

When caught, give them a few lashes of the birch and see if they do it again. Utter scum, and to those who they belong to, you too are utter scum.

the laws of today dont help stop the people who do the crimes from doing it again. they just see it as fun. bet they couldent do it abroad and get away with it ?

    Good-evening!
    Too bad!Penalties for crimes like
this are nearly the same all over
    western Europe!Time Europe adopted
    penalties from the US!They,d think
twice,if the vandals knew a sentance of 10 years plus, with hard
    labour a possibility,was waiting
    for them!
