Three victories in a row, and it seems as though our season is really starting to get going, writes Villa blogger Gregg Williams.
We have lost only one away game since February, our home record this season has been excellent, and we go into the Blackburn game full of confidence.
I’m glad to see that it looks like I will be proved correct over Martin O’Neill and the England job. He has shown where his loyalties lie, with Randy Lerner, the team, and the Villa fans.
We can all be grateful for his commitment to the cause and can look forward to a great future for the club with him in charge.
Hopefully the F.A. will sort out a replacement soon to end any lingering doubts and allow the press to focus on our improving results, rather than trying to tempt our manager to Lancaster Gate.
I see that Scott Carson has thanked the Villa fans for backing him during the Middlesbrough game.
I wouldn’t have expected anything less from our magnificent away support, who consistently provide terrific vocal support for the team, and always turn out in high numbers.
I have a lot of respect for the way Carson has handled himself so far, and it would be fantastic if he can continue to repay the fans faith in him for years to come.
The next two games will really show how far we’ve come as a team. Blackburn away is never easy, I was at Ewood for our victory last season, but this time I expect a much tougher match and the same result would be a big victory for us.
Then the small matter of Arsenal at home, which really will be a test for this young team.

Good blog mate - very little to argue with. One word of caution though, our last three victories have all been against very poor sides in the bottom five of the Premiership. Derby at home and Blues and Middlesbrough away were more a test of character than footballing skills and the boost to confidence they have provided should make the next two games that much more interesting. I think most supporters would take two draws from these next two games so anything more than two points will be a bonus.
I think Villa are a good shout for a UEFA spot come the shake-up at the end of the season. Could be tricky with Blackburn and Man City up there, but fingers crossed.
Great blog there mate.
Although we are starting to look good, and its good to be confident but we musnt get to over confident, remember we have a very young side which means we can become very incosistant.
I expect nothing from either of these games.
No worries though, europe beckons, no problem.
very interesting, but I don’t agree with you
