If there was one score line I would have bet my house on it not being on Sunday, it was 0-0, writes Albion blogger Jarrod Hill.
Even more so with five minutes to go when Beattie went down in the box, and up stepped Gera, but if I am honest, it would have been rough justice on a Wolves side who deserved a point.
Having witnessed a dominant first half from Albion, I hoped we would go on and get some goals in the second half.
Texeira hit the post with what was probably the highlight of the game in terms of skill, and Gera pitched up the chance for Hennessey to become a hero, but all credit to Wolves, they raised their game and probably edged the second period.
Never has a group of fans been so down after just moving up into the second automatic place. I think most fans overlooked that fact and just kept replaying the penalty, and the, what ifs.
Wolves fans were overjoyed when they found out Kev Phillips would miss the game, and I understand why.
If he had been available Sunday I feel confident we would have won the game, not including the penalty we had a number of good half chances that super Kev thrives on.
His strike partner Miller, has now been struck down by our recent injury hoodoo.
The early signs suggest he will be out for 4-6 weeks, and it is big blow at a time when his confidence was high.
It now offers the chance to Roman, Sherjill, and Craig to step up and ensure we keep our momentum going.
I thought all three played reasonably well when introduced to the game, and it will be interesting to see who gets the nod tomorrow night at Plymouth.
With injuries starting to mount up and the January transfer window fast approaching, I would love to know what Mowbray’s thoughts are.
I would like to see us add some extra cover for the centre of defence, and depending on how well our reserve strikers get on, maybe a striker.
However, there is still another month to go, and a lot of games, starting with two tough away games.
Plymouth are surprising a few people, and doing well in the play off positions, and Crystal Palace are surprising a few people by fighting relegation.
Either way, neither are easy places to go, or even to get to, but having realised my company Christmas party was in London on the same day, Selhurst Park here I come.
Well they do say that life is all about timing.

Yes I believe thats our first 0-0 for around 70 games. Our aim was over the weekend not to lose ground on the leaders infact we actually clawed back a point on them so all in all its not been a bad weekend. I think TM will change from the 4-4-1-1 (not the 4-5-1 that everyone keeps claiming we played on sunday) for the plymouth game to a 4-5-1. If we can get 4 points from our next 6 we will be ok
On a different note - I see Billy Davies has been sacked by Derby.
Is football going mad ?? They overacheived massively last season and are only 2 years into their own 5 year plan for promotion.
Davies has become a victim of his own success. I just hope that if we do go up this season that our board can buy into the “long term” development of the club and not give a knee jerk reaction to losing games in the prem.
Seeing as I can’t comment on the Wolves blog (it is bost!), I’m commenting on here.
I think Wolves will go from the draw and win the next couple of games. I can seriously see us starting to compete for a top two slot with the Baggies.
Big game tommorow if we are gonna go up automatic you need to pick up points from games like plymouth away on a cold week night.
At least aswell now we are starting to go away from home and keeping a clean sheet. With phillips and ish out now for next few weeks its important that the midfielders start chipping in with the goals gera and brunt especially are both due goals, as i don’t see beattie and bednar settting the league on fire.
also i have read somewhere that hoefkens as got a 100% penalty record so why on earth isan’t he our penalty taker. boing boing! 4 points out of next 2 games minimum is essential.
Just read on the offical web site that KP and Ish could BOTH be back in 2 weeks… fantastic news !!
whats going on ? mutual respect has broken out in the black country!
Happy
I hope thats correct mate!!
If so you could change you`re name to
Absolutely delirious baggie,
and i can be
Wba physiotherapistsforever.
(whisper this) And who’s to say we both can’t go up ? I honestly think we are both better teams than watford and charlton despite them both just coming down
You West Brummers certainly seem to bank on two players, don’t you ?
Weak squad me supects.
David Bartley, Tipton.
Who is Miss Mars anyway - and is she out of this world ?
Any truth in the rumour that hartson has been voted Mr Mars (Bar) ?
Happy - i`ve read somewhere that
Hartson, despite our injury list
will not be considered….phew!
because of a chest infection.
I have a theory,
he was on loan at Norwich…right,
Norwich is in Norfolk,
Norfolk is famous for turkeys
(i think you can probably see where this is going)
Chest infection or bird flu
for eating copious amounts of the local produce?
The sad thing is we paid £500,000 for Hartson and what is on a week ? Was it Robson who bought him ? Can’t we loan him to Sheff United and get them to pay his wages !
(9) Bartley you really are an idiot you never have any constructive comments to say its the same as when you write to the express and star every other week about utter nonsence youst your normal one sided “bartleys always right” stuff
Its a good point for wolves but two points dropped for the boggies, you need to win your home games.
14 as long as you win your away games why do you need to win your home games 4 out of every six points will do . We got 4 points from our last 2 games by winning away and drawing at home.
I agree it was a damn good point for your lot but that games gone
