Willenhall Town put in a good performance, but still failed to pick up their first victory under new manager Dean Edwards.
Aylesbury nearly opened their account on eight minutes. Nathan Graham worked hard to pressure Dan Harvey into giving the ball away cheaply and his lob shot was acrobatically saved by Ritchie Williams.
The Reds were inches away from taking the lead soon after. Sean Platt put in an excellent cross to the far post, but Tyrone Barnett failed to connect properly and the ball bounced wide.
Just after the half hour debutant Azariah O’Garro’s effort hit the post. Todd Perry picked up the rebound and crossed for Ross Brown but Vincent was off his line quickly to save at his feet.
Willenhall had a golden chance to take the lead just after the break but Craig Gregg’s lob ended up wide, while Willenhall debutant Scott Stevenson saw a curling free kick brilliantly saved by Vincent.
Aylesbury opened the scoring on 56 minutes. Sean Platt was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the area and James Faulkner converted the penalty.
They made it 2-0 on 65 minutes. A corner from the right was headed home on the line by Peter Weirich.
Willenhall escaped when Ross Taylor’s shot cannoned back off the post, and the same player’s shot was tipped over the bar by Williams.
The Lockmen grabbed a consolation just before the end, Tyrone Barnett roundingthe keeper to slot home.
