Hednesford missed the chance to capitalise when Lincoln were reduced to ten men with 20 minutes to go and ended up sharing the points.
Former Pitman Richard Butler was sent off for a crude challenge on Anthony Maguire, but the Pitmen also finished the game with 10 men when Wayne Dyer received a second yellow card in injury time.
The Pitmen grabbed a sixth-minute lead when Dyer won the ball on the halfway line, exchanged passes with Alan Nagington and then sent a cross into the six yard box where Ross Dyer rose to head home.
The lead proved shortlived with Justin Jenkins scoring in the 14th minute from just inside the penalty area.
On-loan Sebastian Arnolin conceded a foul halfway inside the Pitmen’s half, and from Chris Glarvey’s free kick, Lincoln’s Ben Brown scored in the 26th minute.
Ross Dyer turned provider in the 40th minute when he crossed from the left to enable Anthony Maguire to level the scores with a simple tap in from close range.
