14.24: News on the injury front. Ishmael Miller is out for up to six weeks with knee ligament damage. Michael Kightly has hurt his ankle but there was no indication from Mick McCarthy how long he will be out.
Don’t miss the Express & Star tomorrow for a full report, pictures and analysis.
Have your say on the game below.
13.56: Final whistle goes at The Hawthorns, Albion will be kicking themselves but Wolves deserved a share of the spoils in a cracking game.
13.52: Chance for Beattie but he can’t control a Robinson ball and Hennessey gathers.
13.51: Into injury time and it’s somehow still 0-0. Four minutes added time.
13.47: The Wolves fans are boinging in the away end. What a let off for the visitors. Hennessey, Hennessey is the chant from the Wolves supporters. It’s quieter at the other end.
13.45: Collins fouls Beattie and the ref gives a penalty. What a chance for Albion. It’s Zoltan gera but it’s saved brilliantly by Hennessey who dives to his right and beats it away.
13.43: Miller goes off to be replaced by Bednar. Final throw of the dice for Tony Mowbray. MacDonald lets Gibson go and he squares for Olofinjana who misses a second great opportunity of the game, slicng into the side netting from ten yards.
13.42: Superb opportunity for Robinson who sees his glancing header from a corner fly wide. Into the last ten minutes at The Hawthorns.
13.41: Miller turns Craddock for the first time, gets a cross in but Ward clears well.
13.39: Chance for Freddy. He breaks the offside trap, shoots low but too close to Kiely who beats it away.
13.36: Clash of heads between Barnett and Stephen Ward. Sub for Albion, Teixeira leaves the field to a warm ovation to be replaced by MacDonald.
13.33: Beattie gets onto Koren’s pass but Hennessey is quickly off his line to smother.
13.31: Scramble in the box and Robinson blocks Elliott’s shot with his head. Barnett is having a good game for Albion and he clears the danger. Good spell from Wolves.
13.29: Change for Albion. Brunt off and Beattie on. Mowbray going for two up top for the last quarter of the game.
13.28: Wolves have taken the sting out of the match at the moment. The crowd is revealed: 27,493. Just a few seats below capacity.
13.25: Freddy is sporting a garish pair of yellow boots. They can only be described as vile.
13.23: First spark of toruble after Teixeira fouls Ward. Wolves players pile in on the Portuguese as tempers flare. No yellows. Elliott comes on for Bothroyd, who limps off, not one of Jay’s best afternoons.
13.20: Blow for Wolves as Kightly goes down with an injury, he hobbles off, lets hope it’s not too serious. Freddy Eastwood is on for Wolves, boos from the Baggies, cheers from the away fans.
“Kightly’s injury looks serious. But enter the gladiator” says Swain.
13.19: Craddock heads clear yet again from an Albion cross. He has been immense today, along with Kightly Wolves best player.
13.18: First booking of the game for Olofinjana who brought down Greening.
13.16: Closest either side has come. Teixeira turns Ward and curls a glorious shot towards the top corner but Hennessey’s fingertips manage to turn the ball onto the post and it bounces away.
13.14: Kightly takes the fight to Albion, getting the wrong side of Cesar and Robinson before the left back recovers and the Wolves man is penalised.
He remonstrates with the linesman, and in turn 5,000 Brummie Road Enders remonstrate with him.
The first signs of frustration around The Hawthorns and they are coming from the Albion fans.
13.12: No chances yet this half but the quality of the play remains high. Kightly illustrating that with a cross which Hoefkens does well to head away under pressure from Ward.
13.07: No changes for either side.
13.04: Teams are back out for the second half. Albion first to emerge. Will the seconbd period be as good as the first?
12.47: Half time whistle goes and it’s been a brilliant game, but still goalless. Applause for both sides.
We will be back shortly - in the meantime let us know where you are joining us from. John Ainsworth is joining us from an internet cafe in Hua Hin, Thailand.
12.45: Wolves go close again from a well worked free kick as Kightly slides the ball to Gibson and his low drive is just inches wide.
12.43: Two corners in quick succession for Wolves. Ward’s shot is deflected behind for a third flag kick. Darren Ward tries another effort which hits Craddock.
12.40: Another teasing cross from Brunt - who is having his best game so far in an Albion shirt - and Robinson heads over.
12.37: Best chance so far - and it goes to Wolves. Kightly skins Cesar and puts the cross on a plate for Olofinjana, who plants his diving header wide with the goal gaping. What a chance totally against the run of play.
12.35: The pressure brings McCarthy to the edge of his technical area. Wolves cannot keep the ball, they need to hold it up in attack. “This is wonderful football from Albion” - they are turning it on now.
12.34: More Albion pressure, Teixeira to Miller who shoot straight at Hennessey from 18 yards, he should have done a bit better. Great spell this for the Baggies with Teixeira starting to pull the strings.
12.33: Desperate defending from Wolves, first Hennessey punches then Ward heads away from inside the six yard box. Swain: “Albion have had them pinned back for a good five minutes.”
12.30: the noise level rises again as Albion pen Wolves in, a spell of possession ends with Greening’s shot deflected just past the post with Hennessey beaten. Albion corner.
12.29: Bothroyd almost releases Kightly on goal but the linesman’s flag stops the winger in his tracks.
12.27: Miller goes past Collins as if he wasn’t there. Frightening for Wolves, encouraging for Albion.
12.26: This is where McCarthy wants to be after 25 minutes says Mark Douglas as Wolves enjoy their best spell.
12.25: Wolves get their first corner and nearly take the lead, Craddock hiting the outside of the post.
12.22: Best chance of the game as Teixeira fires over from 12 yards.
12.17: Stoppage as Bothroyd gets treated, he is fit to resume.
12.16: Wolves fans: “We saw you crying at Wembley”. Albion break away which briefly looks like toruble as it’s four on four but the move ends with Miller shooting wide.
12.14: First monet of Kightly v Robinson - but not how you might expect as the Wolves winger leaves the Albion full back on the turf.
12.13: Lovely Wolves move, Oloifnjana finds Kightly nut his low cross is just too far ahead of Bothroyd and Ward.
12.11: Bothroyd’s first four pieces of action have all been infringements. “Some of them harshly” says chief sports writer Martin Swain.
12.09: First corner for the Baggies. Craddock clears. Entertaining start with both teams looking to attack.
12.06: First shot is Wolves as Teixeira gives the ball away 25 yards out. Gibson’s effort flies wide though.
12.05: Chris Brunt delivers a beautiful cross which Jody Craddock does brilliantly to head away from Ishmael Miller.
12.04: It looks like Mark was spot on with Olofinjana supporting Bothroyd and Ward wide left. First attack is Albion’s but Miller fails to control Teixeira’s cross.
12.02: We are underway. Wolves win the toss and elect to switch ends meaning they are kicking towards their supporters in the first half. Albion will attack the Brummie Road. The Molineux men go into a huddle just before the game gets underway.
11.58: The teams enter the pitch as the noise reaches a new level. it might be he fifth debry of the year but both sets of fans are really up for this one.
11.54: The endless repeats of last year’s derby goals have finished - to be replaced by deafening music over the PA.
The Wolves fans away to my right are trying to make themselves heard over the loudspeakers as the Brummie Road also cranks into action.
11.52: Our Wolves man Mark Douglas suggests McCarthy could play 4-4-1-1 with Olofinjana behind Bothroyd. We will find out in less than ten minutes time. Atmosphere building as the ground fills up.
Little doubt over the Albion formation that will be 4-4-1-1 with Teixeira behind Miller.
11.50: Filtonwolf (Bristol) wants a present from the Wolves today. He said: “Come on you wolves my son is in vegas celebrating his 21st birthday and I couldn’t think of a better birthday present for him than a wolves win.”
11.35: One change for each side then, Eastwood out and Gibson in for Wolves. Andy Keogh is not fit enough to make the 16. It looks like Wolves are setting their stall out for a point.
One enforced change for the Baggies, injured James Morrison out and Chris Brunt coming in.
Thoughts?
11.32: Teams are in
Albion: Kiely, Hoefkens, Barnett, Cesar, Robinson, Gera, Greening, Koren, Brunt, Teixeira, Miller.
Subs: Bednar, Beattie, Steele, MacDonald, Pele.
Wolves: Hennessey, Foley, Ward, Craddock, Collins, Kightly, Henry, Gibson, Olofinjana, Ward, Bothroyd.
Subs: Potter, Eastwood, Elliott, Stack, Gray.
11.30: Wolves players enter the pitch to a chorus of boos - a minute later the Albion stars are cheered to the rafters at a rapily filling up Hawthorns.
11.29: They are running the videos of last season’s derby on repeat to boost the Baggies and no doubt try and unsettle the Wolves players.
11.22: Team news is coming through to us and Wolves are opting for Jay Bothroyd as a lone striker. Full line-ups coming up shortly.
11.21: Welcome to a thoroughly wet and grey day in West Bromwich. We will be bringing you all the action so make sure you join in - we want your comments.
Wolves and Albion fans let us know where you are joining us from and what you are up to. Post your comments below.

Come on Wolves!
great 0 goals in 14 games from ward, now he is playing upfront. Feeling less confident now. Hopefully i’ll be proved wrong though
MM going with 4-5-1
Has to be the right decision to try and stop Albion playing the way they like to.
So long as we don’t concede early goals I can see Freddy coming on later - and then …… who Knows?
4-5-1 Moseley Wolf! Ward is on the left of midfield!
Just pulled on the old gold shirt. Wish i could be there. Concerned that Eastwood is on the bench and no Keogh. It makes us look a little light up front. But, whatever come on you wolves my son is in vegas celebrating his 21st birthday and I couldn’t think of a better birthday present for him than a wolves win !!
Come on me babbies, lets show Sandwell Town who the real kings of the Black Country are !!!
negative team selection by mccarthy and why oh why is gibson in the team, predict 3 nil loss
4-5-1 but 4-3-3 on the counter attack with Ward and Kightly helping Bothroyd.
We have fresh legs in Elliot and Eastwood to bring off the bench if required.. I’m glad Mick is playing a relatively tight midfield.
COME ON WOLVES!
2. Hope you are proved wrong mate !! Ward IS an out and out striker and I can’t think of the last time he was played that way. Hopefully it’s a good omen !! Come on you Wolves !!
come on the wolves
Lets show those baggies what we’re made of. come on you wolves!!!
come on baggies lets close the gap at the top
Is Jarvis injured? Think Wolves are too cautious with the team they’ve named.
come on you baggies 3 wolves 1
Already sound like we are up against it. Brunt playing on the left is a nightmare!
C’mon you Wolves!
And let’s hope the “FANS” behave themselves!
come on wolves , stuff them
cmon me babbies
Bothroyd is going missing!
we need to just weather this storm. Second half we’ll come alive
oh olly so near
I think it’s time for Eastwood - get him thrown in at the deep end and tell him to earn his crust. Come on you wolves !!
We need a change at the break, Freddy on for Bothroyd?
Come on you Wolves!!
Reading your reports in an internet cafe in Hua Hin in Thailand just need Wolves to win now!!
I, and many Wolves fans would have taken 0-0 at halftime. We were under the cosh for long periods, but we certainly finished the half the much stronger of the 2 teams.
sounds like a good game, hope we can nick a goal in the second half. COME ON U WOLVES . WWFC 4 LIFE
It`s sunny Malta here. Pity not on the box but all Wolves fans are anxious for the boys to get a result. Thanks for your coverage E&S. Hope they make it.
couldn’t get to the game. Listening on 5 live… Sounds like wolves up against it but ohh we could have gone in on top…… ssoooo close to a couple of goals. COME ON YOU WOLVES YOU CAN DO IT
does anyone know the real reason why this match is not on or in fact is never on.
Albion were really pressing, but we need to take advantage of their defence, Freddy on!
Listening online to the game and although the commentators are cleary expecting a Sandwell win they have conceded that Wolves have had the most clear cut chances.
We normally need at least 10 chances for each goal scored so only a few more before we’re in. Let’s hope Captain Marvel keeps us in it
Struggling to listen to the game anywhere on the web here in Rennes, France. Have to rely on the E&S website updates, but sounds like Wolves are holding their own.
Bothroyd sounds like one who should be replaced?
Kightly as expected, is running the show.
Oh no, Kightly going off is a nightmare… not sure if we can afford to go 4-4-2. Lets hope Kites recovers soon, we can’t afford to be without him.
We are the main threat, 10 minutes away from a well earned point. We are probably the best team that Albion have played all season at the Hawthorns?
Earn your pay Eastwood you need to prove your worth today of all days!
Neill Collins AGAIN!!!! HE SHOULD NEVER PLAY FOR WOLVES AGAIN!
Thank God for Henessey - Collins is a liability again
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES…. Neill Collins owes Hennessy a rather large drink.
Hennessey,what a star!!!!
Where has the ref got four minutes time added on from?
This lad is gonna take some beating between the sticks this season and I think Matt Murray is gonna have a real fight on his hands to get his place back.
39. I think we all owe Mr Hennessey a rather large drink and I for one would only be too happy to oblige. Come on you Wolves lets have one with about 1 second of the game to go !!
Thats a good point for the boys, we can take them on back at Molineux.
and you said we can’t score saddies!!
LOL… WERE ARE YOU NOW?
THE STEVE BULL!!!
Woooo! I was going to post earlier but didn’t want to curse it!!
Had no way of watching or even listening here in Hong Kong, so have been merrily hitting the F5 button over and over and over. A good point well-earned by the sounds of it. Pity we couldn’t sneak it at the end, especially with so many slipping up yesterday.
Out of darkness….
not as good as you think eh!we are wolves,we are wolves we arrrrrr wolves.

Right..as the game is at home and the form we are in you would have to predict a home win,I think all the goals will come from midfielders ie, Koren,Tex,Jesus,Gera, etc maybe Miller wil also grab a couple but I do see this as a close game 5-0
BOING BOING

sorry but our manager plays players out of position were to slow at the back no midfield creation and as for scoring, couldnt hit a cows a**e with a banjo, 4-1 albion win.

i cant see us scoring less than 3 in the 1st half and 3 in the 2nd half so i predict 6-0 :-)boing boing
1. Happy_baggie said: Nov 14th, 2007 at 2:35 pm
Last year when we played wolves we had either Perry, Glass foot or Sodjie at the back - and they still only scored 3 goals in 5 games.
Now we have Cesar and Barnett (plus Hoefkens) - a REAL defensive barrier. I think wolves will be more of a threat up front this time round - but i don’t see them getting past our defence.
3-0 Tex / Gera / Barnett
1. SuperMaths said: Nov 14th, 2007 at 3:19 pm
24 - I whole-heartedly agree! Maybe we could loan the Dingle 3 points from this game so they can catch Watford for 2nd when we’re top!
And…
43 - Brian who?!!
I can’t see us losing - I said yesterday we’ve scored almost twice as many and conceded the same as the Dingles - so 2-1 seems apt.
What was the aggregate last year…?
1. Baggiedad said: Nov 22nd, 2007 at 3:13 pm
Dingles beware, it’s MILLER time!
Albion win by 3 goals probably 4/1
Shame Philips isn’t playing it would have been more!!

No matter what happens the ALBION will come out on TOP, always have done and always will.
Come ON the mighty ALBION, lets get another 1 over on the dirty scum.
ONE love = WEST BROM!
IT’S NICE TO BE A LEVEL HEADED WOLVES FAN.
HENNESSEY HENNESSEY
good match
Albion - Hennessey aint as rubbish as you lot said eh?
Disappointed we didn’t destroy you like we should have, oh well you wont have a chance in the New Year.
Hennessey - Class!
Eastwood - Take them chances mate then we’ll be a great team.. Decent result seeing as them cocky tesco bags were saying 3:0 again
Happy baggie where was this beating you promised us eh eh eh!
Good result wanderers.
Well done wayne.
come on me babies!! look at the next 7 games we are capable of winning everyone come on me babies!! hennessy hennessy!!!
Oh dear the tesco goals have dried up,you need to win your home games, good point for wolves.
P.S. Beacon is a Wolvo station and should be totally biased to Wolves, When the deckchairs have their own station, fair enough, instead they jump onto ours with their baggies legend - Hammy?
At the end of the day you Albion lot are too cocky thinking you’ll storm the league. We aint even got started, its just a question of when that happens.
All the Baggies predictions of four and five nil have proved to be as stupid as I thought. Well done lads, an excellent point.
Great result for Wolves, it just shows how far this great bunch of professionals that wear the old Gold And Black have come on since Mick McCarthy took charge. Too much arrogance once again from the West Brom supporters. A great deal of them underestimated us once again, and we’ve come away with a much deserved point.
We beat Albion at their own game today, something that they dont like. Keep the faith in this hard working Wolves side, more performances like this and could very well be a very good season for us.
Another good result for the wolves, an away draw, another clean sheet and another point. Merlin got the tactics spot on and another 100% effort from the boys.
What was the albions arrogant pre match prediction..???
3 nil…4 nil..walkover…easy…3 points..a stroll…a walk in the park…just got to turn up…blah blah blah !!
The futures bright…the future is old gold.
Not quite a Wolves win but we’ll take a draw. After all the rhetoric of the last week or so by the baggies fans what have they got to say today ? Though to be perfectly honest I thought we’d get beat !!
Come on you Wolves, lets use this as a stepping stone to the Premier.
to happy baggy.where is miller now.when is his next match ha,ha,ha.mighty wolves
Happy-Baggie - what was I saying?? Oh yeah, wait and see before you gob off as it makes you look stupid. STUPID! 3-0?? whatever mate……………………..you were lucky to draw.
cpt_wolves you are a disgrace! How can you slag Neill Collins off??? Who was it who scored the winning goal against Coventry, oh and the winning goal against Barnsley…..that’s right it was Collins! That’s the same Neill Collins who has been played out of position all season and has coped admirably without once moaning about it! The man is a true credit to the club and in recognition for his efforts under difficult circumstances he has been given a call up to the Scotland B team! I acknowledge he has been responsible for gifting a few penalties but I for one am fully behind a committed and professional Neill Collins as I know genuine Wolves fans will be too! We have the leanest defence in the division, a defence that Neill has been an almost ever present member of as far as I can remember! You really are an idiot!
That’ll do! 0-0 at their place can’t be sniffed at. I hope Kites is okay - he’s our real dangerman.
Wayne Hennessy for Club President!!
UP THE WOLVES!!!!! ‘AVE IT!!
wolves 4 lyf hennessey what a man !!
Not gonna lie it’s hard to say I told you so when so many people were harping on at me when I was prasing Hennessey at the start of the season. GET COLLINS THE HECK OUT OF THERE! The guy is costing us too many times!! GREAT point today though boys
What a point!
Sounds like we really gave ‘em a good game. First Half sounded a bit one-sided, but we seemed to get a grip in in the Second. Not many teams will come away with a point at The Hawthorns, so Super Mick has pulled off a flyer. Some real tactical genius!
What happened to all these goals the boggies kept telling us all about.
No Miller for 6 weeks, who’s in trouble now??
What a game Craddock had, kept Big Miller quiet.
I told you Mick likes to play it tight!!! another clean sheet thats eight (more than any other team in the league) - Mick knows how to get out of this league you have to grind it out!!!
Well, I think that proves we have come a very long way since last season. Albion haven’t had a 0-0 draw in the league for about 60 games and they have been scoring for fun lately.
Well done lads!
West Brom returned to the second automatic promotion spot despite being held at home by negative Wolves who knew this was their CUP FINAL. Lucky should have been 1-0. We still have the class!
what a save he is just like a good brandy……1 point each, acceptable
jamie james and jenny cornwall
FANTASTIC! Well done me babbies!!
What no happy boggie comments, well done wolves good skills all round. a good point.
There’s only one Super Wayne
There’s only one Super Wayne
He was glued to his line
But now watch him shine
Walking in a Hennessey wonderland!
I advise that on Wednesday evening we all give him a huge standing ovation and chant his name.
Gr8 result 4 the Wanderers! Super Wayne Hennesey and the one and only Jody Craddock! Fair play Mcarthy, gr8 tactics. Up the Wolves!
61. Wolf72. Idiot? Moi?
He (Neill Collins) caused yet another penalty. I feel for the lad, playing at left back, but he shouldn’t be playing at this level and gets found out time and time again.
He has scored a couple of goals, but how many as he conceeded? Did you see him away at Portman Road? He was torn apart.
If he gets a chance at centre back for a lower division club he will probably do a good job, but at this level out of position, he is a liability and I won’t change that opinion. If that penalty had of gone in today, just how popular do you think he would have been.
I’m no idiot, just stating the blummin’ obvious and I think most Wolves fans would be agreement with me.
Post 48:
Fair play mate!
We didn’t score in the first half when we bossed the game for 25 mins and we missed a penalty. Just one of those days when we were never ever gonna score - and wolves played well in the 2nd half.
Tex was outstanding and Greening was everywhere - but Miller had a poor day and we needed a big game from him.
Kightly stayed well away from Robbo as expected. Thought Craddock played well.
On the whole the result was fair enough - not a great game though.
Need KP back asap.
A good point won. Before the game I said to a fellow Wolves fan that I will be happy with a point. And so it happened and Wolves are there and thereabouts.
Watford are wilting and so are Bristol City and that leaves Watford, Albion, Charlton and Wolves scrapping for the top two places.
Hope Wolves will be there. And if they show the same determination as yesterday I think they will do it.
So come on you Wolves join the big boys in the Premiership for full exposure around the world where many loyal fans of the Gold and Black Army are scattered.
come on wolves. wot a game.
Sounds like we gave as good as we got in this one. Great result! Happy to report not a sign of any boinging in Kandahar, any Baggies appear to have sloped off quietly back to their tents. Well done Wolves and top marks to Hennessey.
A draw was fair result if we had scored in the ist half we had a spell when we totaly outplayed you,we would have gone on to win by 2 or 3.But i am happy 2nd in the table above the wolves who havent won at our place in this century.
a draw is ok but why s.ward & gibson? i’ve seen the reserves recently & gibson was hopeless, where as mark davies was outstanding & played the 90 min’s.oh yes! he ain’t irish!
Oh dear, the ’so called’ best squad in the championship couldn’t break down the ‘proven’ best defence in the league. I dont see too many of the tescos lot gobbing off now do you ?
Ignorance is bliss boys, we ignore your comments and its bliss for us.
Arrogance leads to disappointment and look who’s disappointed, we took a GOOD point from you and you DROPPED TWO POINTS, thats the way I see it because it was you lot giving it all that with your ‘yeah we’re gonna win 5-0′ crap.
Most level headed fans on our side of the fence were happy to take a point as we know its a difficult place to come and get anything and I for one was happy to take the draw as I know a lot of other people were too. you had it your own way for a good percentage of the first half but we could have won it too so at the end of the day, you should be happy with a point too and maybe you wont be so quick to gob off in future, look what happened to you last season, you were SO confident that you were going to get promotion and oops ! I only see Derby’s name propping up the bottom of the prem so what happened there then ?!
You’re just too arrogant and believe me, its going to be your downfall.
Great result lads, isnt it amazing that old Happy Boggie and his thick mates are not on here posting, never mind when he is back at school tomorrow he will be back making excuses, as usual.
So much for the thrashing you were going to give us.
For once boggie fans, get your heads out of the clouds, forget all the hype you get in the media and give a little credit where credits due. Gold & Black Tipton.
went to the game, we deserved the point, mom for wolves just edging Hennessy out was Gibson, excellent on the right, mom for albion texeria was quality, we both hit the post. was never a penalty, good point for both sides!
Well done u WOLVES, oh yes and SUPER WAYNE
happy boggie? where are? lets be avin you!!
you bunch of prem stars vs our well apperently average stars went well
one week ago you told me
tax-ear-ache
fake-beattie
brunt
miller
were all prem class
hmmmm they showed it, miller had very tame shot me old gran could of hit better
that portugues “magician” well showed he isnt the REAL DEAL
beattie was well rubbish
brunt - well honest to god (not lying) i didnt realise he was playing till they subbed him
happy baggie - thank you very much for 1pt in your shed
happy baggie !!
where was the 3 or 4 nil thrashing you were going on and on and on and on about ?
seriously ? where was it ? so full of yourself as usual for the last two weeks and look how it turned out.
miller out for ages as well, and immense day at the sandwell office.
see you at out place next year, i really hope you’re as arrogant before that one as you were this…..
Heaven forbid that I should defend Happy but he has posted and gave what appears to be a fair assessment giving us some credit and praising Craddock. He is not like some of his fellow fans still desparately trying to make out that they are better than us. On todays evidence there is little to choose between us.
You lot are obviously happier with the result than we are! Overall it was a fair result over the ninety minutes, with a lot of hard work and endevour from both sides. We had plenty of chances to have put the game out of sight within the first twenty minutes, but when we hit the 38 minute mark it was becoming all wolves pressure, forcing corner after corner and we were lucky to go in at 0-0 at half time. If we don’t put our chances away when we get them, we will obviously drop points, like today. If any team waste a penalty at nil-nil with only five minutes to go, they would feel like they should have won. Miller was woefully under par today and should of been subbed before he was injured, because he just looked off it today. I’ve been a big critic of Beattie, but he was very lively when he came on. It will be a big test for him, Bednar and Macdonald now that we are without two of the leagues best scorers.
I think a return to 4-4-2 would have been better, Miller had between two or three Dingle defenders on him every time.
It’s all gone very quiet over there in the Brummy slums now hasn’t it?
‘Hark’ at HB being nice to us,
Yes you did need KP cos all you do is rely on one player who’s like 34.
Guess you underestimated us, oh well we’ll av you at the Mol
92 - if you had been there (LOL) you would realise that we tanked you for most of the first half and if KP had beem playing it could easily have been 2-0 at half time.
Any club who’s top scorer is injured is going to miss him - your crack at his age is pathetic and also shows you lot up as he always scores against you.
Anyway I knew you wern’t there as I didn’t hear any boos.
What this WE wil have you at the Mol ?? You are obviously just another arm chair warrior !!
LCW - maybe you can change your web name to Loyal Beacon Radio Listener
93 Season Ticket holder in the South Bank (Jack Harris) Actually, but why am I justifying myself to a computer geek?
Happy and the gang.
Im actually embarassed that im chuffed we drew with little albion.
Still, we have improved on last season. How silly do you guys feel after saying you would trounce us??
A very close game which Boggies missed out on their first half dominance - Wolves had good chances - Oli diving header - yards wide - Kites cross S Ward no pace couldnt get there! & Bothroyd MIA for most spells of the game!!!
Hennesy World Class finger tip save and penalty save - and Craddock played very well
A point well earned away from home
Well done to MM and the team - the fans in good voice yet again!!!
NB* Did anyone think that Freddie could have taken his chance better or did Boggies keeper make a good save?
UP THE WOLVES!!!
i wasn’t at the game today so i can’t really comment on any performances.
Good point for wolves.I predicted we’d lose last week so i hold my hands up.Well done wolves.
Listened to the game on the radio.I totally agree with cpt wolf.Collins needs replacing at lb.Not his fault he played out of position but he should be learning his lesson on conceding penalties. If hennessey had not saved that penalty cpt wolf was right.Collins would not of been popular.
Was at the game today and to be honest l couldnt give a monkeys about drawing with the Dingles-I’m more concerned that we failed to close the gap on Watford-reminded me of the game against Sheff Wed-bossed the match but failed to capitalise on our superiority.OK the Dingles have had their Cup Final and not lost as is the norm , so let them have their 5 minutes of glory and normal service will resume next week.
I’d rather be a Dingle than …..
Nothing better than a load of bleating Brummies !
We will finish the job off at the Moineux next year on our march towards the premiership.
Perhaps Phillips may be off his crutches by then , sounds like a 1 man team to me . How far do you numpties really think he is going to get you in the Premiership ? And we all know where Miller wants to be… it ain’t the Poorthorns , back to Manchester for him me thinks
99. Mike Parry.
Surely your cup final as your attendence was up by 8000 on your average. Remember your just little Albion to us.
93 - happy!!! more if’s, but’s and maybe’s. and how the hell can u accuse a wolves fan of taking the mickey out of a players age when all we have heard all season is how old our players are.
shame for miller. it really is.
from what i saw in that cowshed today, think your in trouble if u have to rely on cheryl, bednar & beattie, they look poor.
Happy told you about MM doing his homework on Miller being a left footed player you said he only needs to be a one footed player to hit the back of the net.Wasn’t allowed to play with either today was he cause Craddock & co would let him. Where were the goals you said he would score. UP THE WOLVES
Wolves have always been a bigger and better club than Sandwell Town, and we always will be.
Over the past few seasons, The Boggies have had the rub of the green, however, I believe that Hennessy’s penalty save has ended their spell.
Wolves will beat them at The Molineux, and will have the upper hand for years to come.
Every dog has it’s day - even the mongrels at Sandwell Town.
Normal service will now be resumed.
David Bartley, Tipton.
Well one set of fans is happy with a point and one set aint - that says it all.
However - I will say the wolves battled well and threw us off our game - a bit like Stoke did.
So we are still 2nd and wolves are fifth - I think that will be about right come May. we are a point closer to Watford so its not all doom and gloom.
Oh dear southern wolves - IF you’d have been there it would have been YOUR cup final as I doubt you attend many if ANY proper games even those at the Custard Bowl
Well done lads to hang in there in the first half. Pity we couldn’t convert one of the chances to really rub it in!
Hennessey and Craddock men of the match. Hope Kites is not too badly injured.
Need to get scoring and lets get some wins in the next few games. We can pull something off this season for sure, if we just get a few things put right.
FAO - Happy Baggie
You seem a little peeved old chum? Ever thought about changing your name to Unhappy Baggie?
Just a thought!!
Tee hee - I could have sworn we were supposed to lose by a hatful!!
Up the Wolves!!
We should have won this, especially in the last 20 mins, we dominated them. But VERY happy with a point. Hennessey is a legend, Neill Collins with a silly foul, but this is a sign of our resillience and passion.
WE ARE GOING UP
Theres a distinct lack of Albion posts on here - whats going on! We’ll see how good a team they are now with a few injuries lol!
Good result given the penalty. I did fancy us to nick it at the end though. Job done!
Axel Foley - is your realy Name Alex W***? If so how u doing its Goochie!
Makes you laff when these sandwell town lot keep saying our cup final when they only get a big crowd when we come to play!
Oh i forgot or when they give half price tickets away couple of them coming up me thinks SAD!!!
Decent game wolves came to bore us and to fair did a good job.On another day it could have been 3 or 4 but thats football. I am just glad that I dont have to watch the Wolves style of football every week buts that a personal choice.
I am not normally one for the tit for tat stuff but
101 southern wolf if we are little albion how comw every wolves fan is so excited at getting a draw against such a little team you silly man.
anyway back to the football half decent game half decent result half decent ref and we moved back to second all in all a good day
102 has a good point. Quite ironic Happy moaning about an age crack. Very typical of you to be fair, you consistently ignore things that prove you wrong in order to put yourself in a more positive light. You’d make a good politician son.
Come on wolves let start our push for an automatic promotion after today`s performance so that all wolves supporters will celebrate in style!!Our rich history and loyal fans (including malta wolves!!) deserve to watch their favourite team every weekend live on tv!
100 Dingle Daz (pottymouth)
Oh, but you are a ….
I’m thinking that your combined dingle jubilance at drawing Nil-Nil, is down to you believing that we are the better team?
And that you did well to come away with a point?
Did you suprise yourselves?
59. Derby Wolves. You are a complete and utter jerk for delighting in the injury to Ishmael Miller. Knee injuries can end careers. Maybe you were the person who threw the bottle at him?
A good point for us and MM earned his crust today - good tactics. Could’ve come away with all the points. Nice to see naggy daddy acknowledging fair play. I hear the sandwell fans saying it would’ve been different had kp played, maybe, but we had keogh out and I reckon he would have been better in the supporting role than george. Worrying that we don’t score as often as we should. Hopefully this will launch us to hammer some of the other teams and start moving up the table. What’s the news on kites injury?
It’s only a draw but how the Albion have been playing it feels like a win working in West Brom I’m looking forward to work tommorow.
Happie Baggie - A poor result , drawing at home again………. then again it was aginst one of the divisions top teams!
As for “if kevin phillips was playing”, he wasnt so ………..if your auntie had balls she’d be you’re uncle.
Well donr Wolves, a good point. Not a 3-0 tonking as all the cocky Albion fans were saying.
One bad note though, why Collins, why?????
Who is going to score goals for Albion now Miller is out for 6 weeks and Phillips is crocked???
Derby all over again Dogheads.
You thought you would walk it.
The tables have turned and Wolves will come out tops…
“You only came to see the wanderers.”
have you lot won the fa cup or summet, you really are estacic at getting a draw at the mighty albion, but you was so lucky :-)boing boing
The dingles where very lucky today, how they managed to get a draw i dont no.Thay where out played most of the match,How mcarthy can say they diserved a draw, what match was he at.What about the pen,if gera had hit the ball full on instead of side footing it the keeper wood never have got near it.Mowbery should get tony brown to show him how to take a pen, another two points lost .I thought the dingles where very poor, they wont get to the playoffs if they perform like that every week. With miller and phillips out mowbery will see how strong his sqoud is no
lol you dingles are making me laugh with these posts your going on like you hammered us it wasn’t long ago you said you were going to thump us on in our back yard that didn’t happen and at the end of the day it was your keeper that kept you in the game.so be greatful of a point and stop gloating when its not deserved.
99-want some mints to wash away the sour grapes-face it-you ain’t as good as you thought you were-we had eleven players on the pitch?
Another good day for merlins kids in gold n black. A very pleasing result and performance, though still not at our very best, another clean sheet for the meanest defence in the league, an away point gained and we took 2 points off one of our league rivals. Hennessey, craddock, gibson and kights had a great game, i just hope kights is ok.
Now, more importantly, 6 points required from our next 2 games at home.
The futures old gold
A tremendous result for Wolverhampton Wanderers. A very useful away point against one of our rivals for promotion, yet the penalty save could be more significant.
The confidence boost could well transform Wayne Hennessy from a promising youngster, into a world class goalkeeper. Well done.
Robinson’s (and Sandwell Town’s) jam ran out.
David Bartley, Tipton.
subway 103 id be more worried if i had your lot up front, deano only had to make 1 save thats why you,l finish mid table :-)boing boing
As i said in earlier in the week we struggle against teams who come just to spoil the game put ten men behind the ball just as wolves did today,im glad i dont have to watch them every week,:-)boing boing
well done jody !!!!!!!
GERA……..WIGAN
MILLER……MAN.CITY
MO……….MIDDLESBOROUGH?
Never mind you’ve still got HARTSON.
Just wondering what will happen in the next couple of months?
It’s not only the stand where the cracks are appearing, OH DEAR!
sandwell town town are no one with short phillips out - thats a really good point today lads well done
This as all you Sandwell fans say is not our cup final but if you came to the golden palace and came away with a draw you would be celebrating like crazy. As last season your manager can’t even be honest and say wolves deserved a draw. Keep relying on Phillips because as most fans with any sense know 1 player does not make a team.
good result yesterday
man of the match WAYNE HENNESSEY WALES no1
i’m glad to see that all you Wolves fans are overjoyed at taking 1 point off the Albion, I will take it as a compliment that you all think this was your cup final, are none of you dissapointed you ONLY got a point against your most hated foe!!!!
Seriously I think looking at the game nobody really deserved to win the game and a share of the spoils was fully justified. We both had chances Olly should of put you 1-0 up, then we had a moment of magic off Texiera when he struck the post, and then all credit to Wayne Hennessy any penalty save is a fantastic save especially when it is against your rivals with 5 minutes to go. Other than these 3 chances they was’nt really any more clear cut chances to win the game, the majority of the game was played in the middle of the park.
Texiera ran the show for us, although was a little lightweight when under pressure on occasions, and your No 8 think it is Carl Henry was pulling all your strings
Yes i’m dissapointed we did’nt get 3 points in the aspect that it was an home game, but i’m definetly not dissapointed that we only got 1 point against the most organised team i have seen come to the Hawthorns this season.
To all Wolves fans that are going on about being cocky, I’d take your own warnings, already there are posts of “wait until we get you back to the Molinuex”. Many Albion fans were too confident including myself for this game expecting it to be a foregone conclussion, but i think many of you might be setting yourselves up for the same fall.
From an Albion fan satisfied with 1 point.
Wake up call for Sandwell Town.
KP out Miller out. Strike force blunt. One is 33 and getting tioo old for premiership. The other one is on loan and wont be allowed to stay. Without them its looking a bit tough for.
£13 million spent so far was it?
Mmmmmmm
the sooner we get out this cloggers league the better, all teams do is come here put 10 behind the ball and kick us off the park,we are far to good to be in this league, thanks god we going up this tear :-)boing boing
first let me say what a good result it was against sandwell town ,what a difference a year makes since those defeats. mick is really starting to make things happen to our beloved wolves.we are going to be close to the leaders by the time january first comes round.morgan is going to have to splash the cash on at least one striker maybe two, because this is all we need to be the complete team i live in new zealand and i only have my computer to follow every match most times at three a m but i read every comment from you guys and i am with you all. very exciting times are coming in this next twelve months cmon me babbies.
Some amazing comments on here. This game really makes people loose all perspective on reality!
The reality is that it is a better result for wolves than it is for Albion.
The game was fairly typical, Albion were at home and had large periods of possession (as it should be) Wolves soaked up the pressure well and countered well (as a team should)
All this nonsense about domination and if we had scored we would have had 4 or 5 is just plain stupid!
The table has hardly changed with 8 teams within 3 points of each other and albion in second on goal difference, still 5 points behind Watford.
One defeat for either club would change everything.
This season is going to go right to the wire with at least 10 - 12 clubs able to reach the play - off’s.
The sad fact is that because of injuries WBA have lost their edge and if Wolves loose Kightly we will loose our creativity.
I know people don’t like it but we are just two average clubs slogging it out in a very average league.
I notice that a boring draw between two London clubs is more interesting than our local Darby!
Sad but true!
Ignoring some of the loopier comments on here (Tex apparently went missing – er, man of the match and hitting the post???) I think the result was a fair one – Wolves deserved a point for their second half display so the late Pen would have been a very harsh way to lose. Well done the kid with the save.
It shows weaknesses in both sides though – for all our quality Albion can still be hurt if teams are up for it and out-battle us. Whereas Wolves’ best chances fell to Olly – you really need to sort out your strikers. 18 goals in the league just isn’t good enough and is why you don’t have a prayer for automatic promotion and we do.
The tables ain’t half turned though – Wolves fans celebrating for *not* losing a derby for a change! The guys who claim not to care about “little Albion” (hah!) are priceless!
Cashman don,t come on here telling us how much we have spent after the amount Haywood wasted on your team. Its not thirteen million as you kepp reminding us we have sold all our best players.Congrats on getting a draw against our reserves on Sunday we will be back to the 3-o drubbings whenb we play you at your place. If you do manage to get up this year just how many points would you get in the prem playing the MM style of footbal.Would be no more than Derby ,Watford or when we went up under Megson.Look at the sides that have gone up playing holding type football. But suppose you got that scouse chairman who may spend some of supposed fortune.
Good honest post Tony. I have just spoken to my daughter in Sydney to discuss the game and as a side issue she says there is a town in Northern Territories called Boing Boing. Has anyone heard of this?
Terry Saddler, what a sad and miserable person you seem to be. I expect you to be biased but your bitterness hides any small knowledge of football you may have.
To all the tesco fans on here, I think you will find that MOST Wolves are not too excited about the result even though an away draw against the leagues in form side is good.
What is pleasing is to see how silly you all look for predicting a hatful of goals.
To Mike Perry. I have attanded 3 home games and 1 away this season. Not bad for someone who lives 3 hours from Wolves. Still, we have support all over the world unlike you.
136 - TonyWBA - I can’t speak for the other Wolves fans, but I am happy with a point because I think that we still have a great deal of improvement to come.
We are thereabouts without our main strikers hitting the net on a consistent basis, so if we can put that right, things look encouraging.
The only question I would ask some of the Baggies fans predicting a thrashing is….
Is your team not as good as you thought you were , or are Wolves better than you thought ?
terrywalsallbaggie are u crying only post 138 you said, thanks god we going up this tear. ha ha
93) happy baggie,
tonked us for the first half, apart from the header oli missed, the free kick inches wide from Gibson, the almost OG from Robinson and craddocks header off the post, did you goto the same game as me?
happy baggie
1. we are happy with 1pt coming away to a side above us
you would be if you came to ours n got 1pt
2. “oli pjamas”, “manutd reject”, “shoddy defence” - all apperently couldnt hack it with your “Prem stars”
well 0-0 away draw proves that mate
ishamael the goal machine miller well he absolute different class, not
brunt different class - not
taxi-in-nigeria different class - not
wake up n smell the COFFEE sunshine
I find the comments from our Sandwell friends amusing after all the pre-match hype, apparently it was just a case of how many they would score! Did we really go there to spoil and sit 10 men behind the ball?? No. We went 4-4-2 quite early on to go and put them under pressure…which we did for 7 or 8 mins before half time.
If you look at the match, we had the more clear cut chances - Seyi missed two great chances - a free header and a shot into the side netting, Craddock hit the post from a corner and Freddy made Kiely block his shot later on.
Having said that, when we’re facing a penalty with 3mins left, we’d have taken the point.
The fact is Wolves caused them more problems at home than most - if not all - teams this season. They were expecting to win easily.
A point away against a team 2nd in the league is a decent result.
149- What coffee would that be?
To your credit, you looked organised and disciplined and could’ve sneaked it.
But I think we made it pretty easy for you playing with one upfront.
I came on here after the Coventry game and said 4-4-1-1 just restricts us when we’re trying to break teams down, as we just play in front of teams and I got laughed off the board because we ended up winning 4-0.
But yesterday proved that we can play pretty football all day long, but if a team sits deep, then we don’t really hurt them.
I think it was obvious we are a better side than a well-drilled Wolves, but we did ourselves no favours with the system.
If that game had been played a month ago with a fit Phillips and a 4-4-2, I think we’d have seen a different game.
Wolves will be a top 6 side, but if we sort ourselves out, we should be looking at finishing well above them.
I was naively hoping this result
would put an end to some of the monumental crassness…….not a chance.
Any team that can stop Albion scoring, has done a good job,
so Wolves should be credited for that.
I must say in my opinion,
i was rather surprised with Wolves second half showing,
the last 5 or ten minutes of the first half Wolves were well on top,
and it will remain a mystery to me just how Olifinjana missed,
but for all the second half possession, they showed very little attacking intent, often hitting hopeful balls that Deano dealt with easily.
All in all a fair result.
Just been checking up on some stats.
Wolves have kept 8 clean sheets so far this season - why does everyone take the rip out of the defense?
We have a good away record and the second best form in the league over the last 8 games.
Without goals Albion look vulnerable. Goals against not bad but worse than wolves and the away record is quite poor.
You need lots of goals to maintain your position because without them your style of play won’t get you up.
This is not a pop at Albion because I think they have better players than Wolves but after watching Wolves, season after season trying to play their way out of this league I fear you may be going the same way!
Happy_Baggie said: Well one set of fans is happy with a point and one set aint - that says it all.
Of course we are happy,we went to a side above us in the table and deservedly took a point. You played a team below yourselves and dropped two points so you are not so happy ??
So that says what ?
Have i missed something ?
It isn’t exactly rocket science !
THANK YOU WOLVES FANS as a baggie you have made me so proud. That you think so highly of West Brom that you are all so excited in getting a draw at albion. I did not expect such compliments from you and heres me thinking you hated us.
Vindaloony you are correct its not rocket science I dont know what it is we always seem not to be able to beat the teams lower than ourselves stoke, wolves, sheffield, and even sheff wednesday perhaps our style is more apt to the better sides in the division.
All in all on the day it was probably a fair result although I think albion just (and a very close just)about edged it.
I do think it was a missed opportunity for wolves as our number 1 striker and main centre half was missing but thats football. at least we can all get on with the season until the next over hyped media so called big match comes around next year.
It being a big game do we get 3 points each for the draw or is it the same 1 point as dawing against sheffield wednesday.
is it true that sadwell town have got the police helicoptors out and officers trawling the canals for nathan 10-3??
where are you and your spot on predictions???
wolf 147,just a slip of the finger, but you,l be crying when we are promoted and your in the cloggers league where you belong :-)boing boing
116 - stop tryin to cheers us up. but fingers crossed eh !!!
i hope i hit him with it, there was still some left in the bottom, hate to be wasteful (e.g: gera)
Terry - 157 - what does all that mean then?
So your team of supposed superstars couldn’t manage a goal then?
You call us negative. You were at home and played one upfront.
Other than the penalty, we had the best chances in the game. Tex Mex or whatever his name is had a half chance from nothing.
You go on about us being happy with the point. Wouldn’t you be, in a local derby away from home? Think about it before you come to the Molineux.
Also - all your predictions of a goal feast……..do you feel a bit silly now????
159 thats the difference you should never be “happy” with a point always go for the win it does not always happen but you should never really be satisfied with a draw
Subway muppet I presume it was you then throwing things at miller whilst he was on the floor I bet your mother and fellow wolves fans are so proud of you. Guess I should have recognised you should have been easy to spot burb cap stone island jeans and paul and shark jumper Henri lloyd trainers
West Brom returned to the second automatic promotion spot despite being held at home by negative Wolves who knew this was their CUP FINAL. Lucky should have been 1-0. We still have the class!
You Dingles are acting like you have won the league??? we are going up and you are staying down..simple as that and you know it! boing boing, the baggies are, have always been and will always be the greatest!
