Even the partner of Stone-based plant company boss Dennis Sparke admits he is a dead ringer for ex-England manager Steve McClaren.
But now Mr Sparke is hoping the shouts of “Steve, Steve” that accompany him on a daily basis will subside after McClaren was sacked.
The 48-year-old runs interior foliage company Plantcare, which looks after plants at offices, service stations and garages across the West Midlands.
He said he was used to being teased about his resemblance to McClaren, even by his partner Sue Nightingale.
“She’s not really into football but she can see the resemblance,” said Mr Sparke.
He said the recognition started when McClaren was assistant manager at Manchester United.
“I will be working away and you get bus loads of lads shouting “Steve”. I get it all the time, even off my mates.”
Mr Sparke has been running Plantcare for the last 18 years but is originally from Middlesbrough - the side McClaren managed before taking the England job.
