Walsall set to sign two

Walsall manager Richard Money expects to make two new signings ahead of Thursday’s loan deadline after admitting his squad is down to the bare bones.

Money today resumed his efforts to strengthen his side after revealing he missed on narrowly on adding a new face before Saturday’s drawn match with Luton.

And the Saddlers boss believes a hectic week is in store before the loans window closes on Thursday.

They better be long term loan signings because he’s got no chance of the board sticking there hands in their pockets when it comes to January.

I’ll believe it when we see it. We have waited 4 weeks for someone to replace Mattis!!

Of course we have, Kev. If we had bought someone in four weeks ago, it would have been on a long term loan, which would have wasted a slot, as we wouldn’t have needed them once Boertien is back, as either he or Fox could play midfield. By waiting until this week, we have left the options open of using a short term loan which would see us through Christmas, but still have the long term slots available.

    All jolly good business.

As for Wayne, we have - I’m quite happy with Ricketts and Mooney.

Fox was in midfield at the start of the season when we were inept
    [not Fox`s fault].With the advent
of Mattis we were a different team
and he should have been replaced by
    now.
