Willenhall chairman Paul Garner has shelved plans to hunt for a new manager after giving Dean Edwards the chance to stake his claim.
Edwards gave up his role as assistant manager to Mel Eves in the summer to concentrate on becoming the club’s general manager.
But the former Wolves striker is keen on a return to management and has taken the helm at Noose Lane following Eves’ resignation.
Garner, who has managed West Midlands Regional League side Black Country Rangers, is planning to assist, together with coach Romeo Bertini and goalkeeping coach Phil Parkes.
Garner insists he will give Edwards every chance to make the job his own and end a run of 10 league games without a win.
“I’m not looking for a new manager at the moment,” said Garner.
