Date set for Shane’s funeral

wd2373374shane-owoo.jpgThe funeral of tragic Bilston teenager Shane Owoo will take place next week.

A service for the 16-year-old will be held at St Leonard’s Church, in Bilston, at 12.15pm on Wednesday before moving to Bushbury Crematorium.

Shane was allegedly beaten and forced into the Lunt Pool, where he was said to have been pelted with stones.

He got into difficulties and then drowned. Three people appeared in court charged with manslaughter following the tragedy, which happened on September 29.

Tobias Davies, aged 20, of Frost Street, Ettingshall, and Christopher Lewis, 22, from east Wolverhampton, and Marvin Walker, aged 21, of no fixed address, will appear before the city’s crown court in January.

Shane’s family, who today paid tribute to him in the Express & Star family announcements, revealed that it was the teenager’s dream to join the Army.

His mother Linda Fox said Shane was a “typical teenage boy, who loved his music, Harry Potter books and fishing”.

Thousands of fantastic holidays to choose from!
