Now I know this is going to be controversial, but I have chosen my starting eleven if I had both Wolves and Albion’s squad to choose from, writes Albion blogger Jarrod Hill.
In goal I have chosen Matt Murray (if fit), in my opinion the best keeper in the division, and with England having such limited options in this position, if he could stay fit for any prolonged amount of time, would surely be pushing for a place in the squad.
In defence I have gone for Foley, Craddock, Cesar, and Robinson.
Foley has received rave reviews from all Wolves fans I have spoken to, and is proving to be Mick’s best signing of the summer. At left back I have gone for Robinson, after a summer of uncertainty he has reverted to his all action displays we have enjoyed in past seasons.
Centre of defence caused me as much of a headache as it has for both Mowbray and McArthy. I eventually chose Craddock and Cesar due to recent form; both players are strong in the air and also cause problems in the opposition’s box.
Onto midfield, other than Kightly I could easily have chosen all Albion players, our midfield has so much strength in depth.
However, I have used Karl Henry as a holding midfielder, and then chose three attack minded players in Koren, Greening, and Kightly. Leaving out Texeira, Morrison, Olifanjana, Gera, and Brunt, was a difficult decision, but I wanted to achieve a balance between defence and attack.
Up front I have gone for Miller and Phillips, Wolves still seem to be searching for a striking partnership that works for them (although I appreciate they have four good strikers).
Miller and Phillips work well together and are producing goals galore, and with Wolves top scorer (Eastwood four goals) still not playing regularly I could not see beyond Albion’s little and large strike force.
The players on the bench would make most sides starting eleven, and other than choosing Darren Ward as defensive cover, I have gone with players that can change a game, Bothroyd, Texeira, Morrison, and Gera.
I have tried to choose rationally and not be too biased, obviously I watch Albion week in week out, and my knowledge of Wolves squad and players is based on their fans and whatever I have seen of them myself.
Come November the 25th I will know a whole lot more.
If you think you can choose a better team go ahead and try, but I would put an hour aside and get ready to lose some hair.
Albion fans, what do you think? Have your say below

Is that the same Bostjan Cesar that Mowbray said ‘Heading is a part of the game that he (Cesar) must get better at’ in your very own newspaper?
Before anyone else says it, yes i know i have incorrectly spelt McCarthy. Sorry typo!!
Really cannot see why they got any wolves players in the squad to be honest, The albion squad is looking so good. boing boing
So good in fact, that West Brom are 15 points ahead of Wolves in the table.

Don’t get ahead of yourself. You can save that comment until May 2008….
?????
Is this a wind up? No room for Olafinjana? He is the best midfielder in this division and I would wager a fair wedge he would start over Koren and Greening in most premiership managers teams.

Unless I’m missing what you’re trying to say, maths always taught me that 23 minus 21 equals 2 not 15 !!!! Have they invented some sort of new points system ?
Jarrod, good blog again. I couldn’t complain too much at your choice. The only ones I might query are Oli and Keogh (purely as a free agent to set up goals not as an out and out goalscorer in his own right. I could see him fitting in between Phillips & Miller and the midfield. Difficult to say who he would replace though.)
Can’t argue with any of the selections.
On current form, Miller and Philips have to start, but that can all change in afew weeks.
Good un-biased selections.

You lot live in cloud cucku land… he calls himself “wolves the champions” Nuff said.
Good blogg and decent selections - except should we pick Murray when he’s injured ??
If not then i would pick Deanno over Hennesey - although I’m sure he is a good keeper. Also Koren over Tex is a tough call (I see what you mean about needing an hour…)
As a baggies fan its tempting to pick all albion players and I’m sure i could give you reasons for every one - but the balance looks good so I’m going to leave it there.
Who would you choose to manage them… TM or MM ???
Heres mine..

Great blog jarrod and apart from Nathan 10-3, I think most fans of each club appreciate that both Albion and Wolves have good teams.
you must be sniffing something, i couldnt pick any of the wolves players over the bags, the squad is stronger in every department and Mick if he could bring himself to be honest would agree.
