A mother is keeping a vigil at the bedside of her daughter who survived a crash which killed her ex-husband and 10-year-old son, Matty, pictured.
Emma Thacker, aged 15, was today said to be in a stable condition after the crash on the A456 Birmingham Road, close to Hodgehill Nurseries.
Her father John Thacker, aged 43, and her brother Matthew, known to his friends and family as Matty, were killed when their Jaguar X-type soft-top sports car was involved in a collision with a red Vauxhall Corsa on Sunday.
Mr Thacker and his son both died at the scene after the Jaguar left the road and collided with a tree.
Emma was flown to Alexandra Hospital at Redditch by the County Air Ambulance with serious injuries.
Mrs Thacker said: “Matty was a lovely son and brother. He adored spending time with his dad and cousins. He was a keen sports fan.”
Mr Bill Ibbetson-Price, Matty’s headmaster at Winterfold House School, near Chaddesley Corbett, said today: “Matty was a typical fun-loving ten-year-old who lived life to the full. He was a keen sportsman, his greatest passion being rugby.
Pc Sian Davies, from the Road Policing Team at Rubery, has called for anyone with information on the crash to call 08457 444888.
