Coseley 0 Wyrley Ladies 3

West Midlands Regional Women’s League - Div. 1 North - Coseley Town Ladies FC 0 Wyrley Ladies FC 3

The much improved Coseley side welcomed Wyrley to their home and in the first half they showed they were very much up to the challenge but some good play from Wyrley saw Sam Cullum make a great pass down the line to April Phillips whose cross found Stacey Arnold’s head who beat the goalkeeper from just yards out.

It was end to end play the rest of the first half but it was Wyrley who had the better chances.

he second half carried on much the same as the first and it didn’t look like either side was going to score but then Carena Dixon won the ball in midfield and made a superb pass to Arnold whose powerful shot at last beat their keeper whose performance had been outstanding.

Phillips was a constant threat and a run into the box brought a clumsy block from a Coseley defender which sent her flying and the ref gave a penalty which she took herself and scored.

Three more valuable points were gained by Wyrley even though it cannot be said it was their best performance of the season but Coseley certainly played their part to cause that.

Player of the match was Stacey Arnold.

Next game is at home Burntwood FC’s ground) to Wrockwardine - Sunday 4th November, 2007. 2pm kick off.
