Jody Craddock’s late goal clinched victory for Wolves in a thriller at Ninian Park.
Michael Kightly put Mick McCarthy’s men in front after 13 minutes but veteran strikers from Robbie Fowler (25) and Jimm yFloyd Hasselbaink (29) gave the Welsh side a 2-1 lead at half time.
Influential winger Kightly brought Wolves level after 66 minutes before Craddock struck 18 minutes from time.
The defender headed home Jay Botroyd’s corner to score the goal which puts Wolves third in the table with 21 points from 12 games.

What a fantastic result for the boys against a dogged side that got the better of us twice in the league last season. Kights sounds like he was on fire and Jay seems to have worked hard again. Keep it up lads, not only are we 3rd in the league, we’re above the baggies too, I keep hearing murmurings of ‘the cream always rises to the top’ well it is doing so far ! We only went 3rd due to Bristol City winning else we could have gone into 2nd place but I’ll settle for third and a promise of some more sheer grit and determination from our boys for the rest of the season. Bring on the next victims please… Ipswich here we come !

What a night and what a great result beating a former manager`s team at their own patch and with our own ex-goalkeeper. It is sweet revenge for last season`s two losses against them.

Have we stopped calling for Mick’s head yet? Up to third and we still aren’t at full throttle! The team is showing real backbone now. I’m sure we will get even better over the next few weeks.
Had to listen in on the radio tonight. Sounded like a battling performance from the lads with the class of Bothroyd and Kightly showing through.
Bothroyd and Eastwood partnership sounded like it could work if they get the chance to play together a bit more. Does anyone still doubt Bothroyd after tonight? If he works like that every week he has to stay in the team. Sounded like he outworked Keogh in the first half.
I was surprised Jarvis wasn’t in the squad. I felt he could cause damage down the left. I guess his time will come eventually. I reckon that will be when we hit top form!
I hope we can do Ipswich over on Saturday. We need to keep this momentum going.

wat a great turn around from last seasons 4-0 defeat. they may have improved on that with the signings of jfh, fowler and sinclair but we still dominated with our young guns compared to their golden oldies. good game lads. kightlys the man.

You make a fair point. Wolves fans are fickle. Calling for the manager’s head when we were in the top half of the table and only a few points off the leaders was madness.
I’ve said on here many times that we should be realistic about our expectations and not rush to judgement this early in the season.
Let’s give Mick time and see what he can do for us. Judge him at the end of the season if he doesn’t achieve his own target of a playoff place, but not before.
Meantime we should be singing his name, the name of the club and every player he chooses to put on the pitch (even if we disagree with the choice). We are supporters, that’s what we should do!
We’ve climbed a long way from favourites to go down at the start of last season. We have MM to thank for that. We certainly shouldn’t want to see the back of him because he isn’t spending all of Morgan’s millions in one go!

At last we have proved that we can slug it out and come from behind !! Well done lads and keep it up because we have a couple of games coming up where we are going to have to do the same - Ipswich on Saturday and Bristol City the following week. We mustn’t underestimate the City side they will come at us. I’m not sure they’ve played anyone at the top yet so it will be interesting to see how they cope.

Fantastic commitment, the speed and skill of Kites is awsome, not sure why Boothroyd keeps going on the wing and Collins is NOT a leftback. Poor deffending for their goals but going forward we looked good. Still need an out and out striker in the box. Then we have a complete team. keep up the effort at Ipswich lads.

I’m curious as to where all the MM “bashers” have suddenly gone to! 2 weeks ago loads of so called Wolves fans were calling for his head after the defeat to Hull and the “poor” performance of only scoring twice against Norwich, and I quote “I give him 3 more games and he’ll be out”. How fickle can they be?
I’ll admit some of his comments and decisions have been a little strange but he is the manager and human and therefore allowed to make errors and I believe he should be given 2 or 3 seasons to bed in and see where he takes our great club, not buried under a massive pile of fan expectantcy.
