Jason Donovan in switch-on

Eighties pop heartthrob Jason Donovan is to switch on the Christmas lights at Merry Hill Shopping Centre.

The former Neighbours star will also be performing live on November 15.

Merry Hill bosses said they were delighted the Australian singer was taking part in the celebrations at the Fountain Square and added he would also be signing autographs.

The event will run from 4pm and the switch-on is at 6pm.

    i am the biggest jason fan ever ive been to see him twice at birmigham nec this year then when to liverpool to his book signings.I am on his fan site,and think that jase coming to the west mids is fantastic and ill be there.i cant wait…

    The original JD fans are now grown up and have to work at 4pm and therefore will have to miss this once in a life time event!!!

    Jason is a lovely bloke and I have to work but hope to see him in my break. Went to the NEC to watch him in concert, brilliant…shook his hand! Also have met him in Taunton at his book signing!! He’s lovely. Have fun Jase!
