Cooper makes his Mark

ashmore.jpgMark Cooper scored four times to put the Ashmore inn into the next round of the cup after coming back from injury.

The game played at Fowlers Park the home of Beehive FC.

With the Ashmore on top from the kick off it looked as if it would be a high scoring game but for all the play the Ashmore had things didn’t turn out that way as chance after chance went begging with Mincher, Brown. & Rogers all missing at least seven very good opportunities to put the cheesemen ahead so at half time with the score still 0-0 there was still a lot to play for and if the Ashmore were to play the 2nd Half the same way it would not belong before a change in the score line as the football being played was very nice on the eye.

With Lee onions & Mark Cooper playing like scarecrows’ (outstanding in their field) then things must happen.

And how they did at the restart with cooper moving up front he soon lathed on to a long ball from Rickuss and cooper lobed the keeper soon it was shoots in as Brown Mincher & Onions all came close but Cooper made it 2-0 when Rogers put him in with a pin point pass cooper went around the keeper to finish off a good move.

There was no stopping the Ashmore - at times the football they played was better than sex according to manager Padir Brewster.

Soon number three came from Brown with some one-touch play around the area from Cooper, Rogers, Onions and Andy Cartwright when the ball came to Brown he fired it home.

Then Cooper struck again for his third from a corner that was played in low to the edge of the six-yard box and hit it on the turn passed the stranded keeper.

Ryan Swzarh playing in his first start of the season got on the score sheet when he slid in with the keeper and flicked the ball over him to make it five and with the last kick of the game Cooper Got his fourth from a long range shot that went under the keepers foot to make it 0-6 to the Ashmore inn.

With a smile on all the fans faces it truly was a good day for all Ashmaonians everywhere.
