Injury worries for Pitmen

starbuck.jpg Hednesford head into tomorrow’s FA Cup clash at Rushall with a lengthy injury list to contend with, with no fewer than nine players either ruled out or carrying knocks.

Alan Nagington (ankle and knee), Tom Ward (calf), Sam Hall (broken wrist) and Chris Adam (hamstring) are all non starters, while Paul Robinson (groin) is rated as doubtful and Steve Palmer (bruised foot) and Ross Dyer (knee) are both rated as 50-50.

Tom Marshall and Ross Adams are both expected to be patched up to play, but recent signings Lindon Dovey and Lee Whittington are both cup tied.

And boss Phil Starbuck admits his team’s problems have made an already tough tie even harder.

“Rushall have been in good form, especially at home, so we know it will be a tough game,” he said.

“People will think we should go there and win, but we learned the hard way in the FA Cup last season when we lost to Gedling Town.

“My message to the players is that we have got to be thoroughly professional and expect a battle or we will find ourselves out of the FA Cup.”
