Today saw us welcome the arrival of two new teams into the league - Bustleholme and St Joseph’s Colts.
This brings each division up to 8 teams, and ensures that all the players get two matches every week.
As the season develops there are front runners beginning to clearly emerge, and obviously in the East Division this is Lane Head, who take their goals tally to 51, without conceding any.
In the West Division it is much tighter, and today saw Willenhall Town jump above Perton and Codsall West, although P and C have now played one game less.
In the South Division it is Wednesfield who are setting the pace, while former closest rivals New Park Village were overtaken by Wolverhampton Development Pumas, and FC Perton also joined the chasing group.
East Division - It was a real baptism of fire for newcomers Bustleholme, who had to face Lane Head in their very first match in the league. Bustleholme fought and fought, but Lane Head were too strong and experienced and hit the net 13 times.
Once again the star scorer was Jack Arnold with a double hat trick, but a third hat trick coming from Jake Proffitt. Jack Whitehouse, Kameron Moore, Russell Heathcock and James Shinton were also on target.
Jack continued in shooting form as he hit another four in the 6 - 0 win over Stone Cross Academy, Kameron scoring the other two.
However, Bustleholme didn’t let their heads drop as they took on Salisbury Rangers.
This match ended honours even, so both teams picked up a point each - their first of the season.
Jake Powell scored for Bustleholme, with Jordan Hurd on target for Salisbury.
Meanwhile, Lane Head’s closest challengers, Perton and Codsall East, also continued their winning ways.
Jake Sharman was on target in their 1 - 0 win over Stone Cross, but they couldn’t repeat their success, going down 0 - 2 to Smethwick Sikh Temple.
Sangat Bassi and Luke Banorman netted for Smethwick, who now move into third place, two points behind P and C.
It was also a good day for `Bentley Youth, who had yet to pick up a point. But everything comes to those who wait, and today was Bentley’s day.
A 2 - 1 victory over Salisbury was followed by a well earned draw against Wolverhampton Development Panthers. Jordan Sherwood and Hayden Millard scored in the first match, with Jordan Hurd replying for Salisbury, while Jordan was again on target later, with Wolves Development’s goal coming from Alex Nyari.
West Division - This is certainly the closest of all the divisions as far as two runaway leaders are concerned.
Willenhall Town started the day second on goal difference behind Perton and Codsall West, but with P and C having only one game and Willenhall two the chance to take top spot was there and Willenhall took it.
Ashley Doughton with a hat trick, and goals from Alex Page and Joseph Matthews, saw them through to a 5 - 0 win over Rowley Rangers, and this was followed up by a 9 - 0 victory over Dudley Town, with Ryan Bourne as the hat trick hero this time.
Alex Paige, Jamie Morgan, Jordan Ryan, Ashley Doughton, Kane Showell and Joseph Matthews were also on target.
But Perton and Codsall still managed a victory in their only game of the day, against Pensnett Harriers, with Daniel Slide, Jack Bishop and Matthew Finney on target in the 3 - 0 win.
Coopers Casuals were in fine scoring form in their opening game. Two from Harry Watton, two from Lim Noble and one from Zach Reynolds gave them a 5 - 1 win over Dudley Town, who replied with a goal from George Hingley.
Coopers couldn’t keep the momentum going as they faced new team St Joseph’s Colts, playing their first game in the league.
They passed even their own expectations, running out 4 - 0 winners, goals coming from Daniel Cooper with a brace, Kyle Hunjan and Richard Peters.
South Division - Wednesfield continue to dominate the division, and are almost challenging Lane Head in the goal scoring department.
They opened their day with a 10 - 0 victory over Prestwood Rangers, with both Todd Brindle and James O’Malley hitting hat tricks.
Kane Matthews got a brace, and Jamie Goodwin and Liam Evans one apiece. Wednesfield then continued in fine form, and even the stronger pressure from Coven United Colts couldn’t prevent a 5 - 0 win.
Jamie Goodwin hit two, with Robert Baker James OÕMalley and Todd Brindle also netting. And still no one has managed to score against them.
Team of the moment is Wolverhampton Development Pumas, who climbed into second place with a convincing 5 - 0 win over Coven United Colts.
Reiss Pugh was Pumas’ hero as he hit four, with the fifth coming from Ryan Griffiths.
Pumas then went on to the Match of the Day, as they took on New Park Village, placed second in the league.
A very close game saw the score at 1 - 1 until near the end, but it was Pumas who got the winner.
Ryan Griffiths and Jack Richards were on target for Pumas, with Frank Hill scoring for NPV. Frank had hit a brace earlier as NPV ran out 2 - 1 winners against Ashbourne Raiders.
But also watch out for FC Perton, who climbed to joint third in the table.
A 1 - 0 win over All Saints Juniors, with Andrew Shave on target, was followed up by a 7 - 0 win over Prestwood Rangers, with Andrew getting a hat trick, Oliver Matthews a brace and James Burrows and Besmeliah Azimi also scoring.
