Walsall boss Richard Money today warned his players that big-spending bottom side Oldham will play like a top-six team when they face the Saddlers tomorrow.
John Sheridan’s side will arrive at the Banks’s Stadium tomorrow rooted to the foot of the table after a dreadful start to the new campaign.
But Money is still tipping them to make the play-offs at the end of the season after they splashed out on the likes of Saddlers old boy Michael Ricketts and former Wolves striker Craig Davies in the summer.
And the Walsall manager has told his side to expect a tough test.
“They have invested like a top six club and they are among everybody’s six top teams in relation to where they will finish,” said Money.
“Last season they made the play-offs, they have had a poor start by their standards, but they will come here and play like a top six team.
“They will want to get their season up and running as quickly as possible.
“Our win has lifted us out of the bottom four and the botton four teams on Sunday were Oldham, Leeds, Millwall and Doncaster.
“In my opinion they will all be top-six teams along with Nottingham Forest.”
