9th September 2007 Kick off 14:30 Norton J.F.C Vs MNG Milanco
After Thursday’s performance confidence was high and the lads certainly produced a similar performance.
Coming into this game MNG Milanco were unbeaten so a good start was needed.
Ryan Caldwell was at the heart of everything we did in the first 20mins.
In the early stages it was Milanco’s keeper who was the main star, keeping his team in the game by making 3 or 4 fine saves.
Ryan finally broke the deadlock midway through the first half as he raced on to a ball from Jamie Wrench and produced a fine finish.
It was starting to look like we were going to rue our missed chances when Milanco keeper stepped up and scored a freekick from 25 yards.
Milanco then continued to put us under pressure in the final stages of the half but the lads defended well. Half Time 1-1
Second half the lads stepped up a gear and again it was Ryan who scored to regain our lead with a fantastic freekick from 20 yards out.
Debut boy Adam New then set up Ryan for his hat-trick flicking the ball on and leaving Ryan to race away and make it 3-1.
We didn’t have to wait long for another goal as Ryan set Mikey away and he produced a sublime finish.
By now the lads were playing some great football, but the next goal was scored in bizarre fashion; a corner from Joe Davis took a wicked bounce in front of the keeper and found its way into the back of the net much to the delight of Joe.
Josh Webb then got in on the act, a lovely through ball by Kieron O’Grady set Josh away and he rounded the Keeper to make it 6-1.
There was then just enough time for Adam New to mark his Debut with a goal, a corner from Joe found Adam unmarked and he powered a header in.
Full Time 7-1
Man of the Match - Ryan Caldwell and Jamie Wrench.
Overall a great performance, Milanco are a good side but I feel we were good value for our win. Another tough game follows next Sunday but with our current form we can go into the game with confidence.
