6th September 2007 Kick off 18:30 Pensnett Panthers West Vs Norton J.F.C
After Sunday’s game the lads were really downbeat but that did not last long. Unlike Sundays game there was no nerves and the team started really brightly.
It wasn’t long before neat interchange between Mikey Woodall and Ryan Caldwell resulted in Ryan shooting narrowly wide.
We didn’t have to wait long for the first as with our very next attack the ball ended up in the back of the net, Josh Webb putted two defenders away and Ryan made it 0-1 with a breathtaking shot.
This seemed to set the tone for the rest of the game as the second goal again came after good interchange between Mikey and Ryan who found Josh Webb at the back post unmarked and he calmly slipped the ball past a very good keeper. Half Time 0-2
The lads started the second half how they finished the first and scored a third, an inch perfect ball put through by Joe Davis to Josh Webb was unselfishly squared to Ryan for his second.
Soon after it was a similar story but this time Ryan unselfishly squared the ball to Josh for his second and our fourth 0-4.
More pressure was to follow from the lads and this resulted in a fifth goal put away by James Mills after a fantastic run.
In fairness to Pensnett they never gave up and a thunderous shot from the edge of the box gave Adam Causer no chance, the goal was well deserved.
Just like Sunday Joe Davis then popped up at the right time with an instant reply, 1-6.
Just to cap off a perfect man of the match performance, Ryan Caldwell scored to complete a well deserved hat trick.
Josh Uppal was introduced and he continued where Josh Webb left off.
Final score 1-7
Man of the Match - Ryan Caldwell. May we take the opportunity to thank Paul and his players for a very warm welcome to there home ground and wish them all the success for the season.
