The Royal Navy is joining forces with the Army and Air Force to fly the flag at The Express & Star’s Jobs Careers Training exhibition.
People can learn more about a career in the forces as well as a host of other trades by going along to the fair, at Wolverhampton Racecourse next month.
The two-day exhibition, which is also sponsored by the University of Wolverhampton, is expected to be huge hit.
Last year’s debut show attracted 50 employers including retail, engineering, hotel and leisure, education, voluntary work, training, public services and the armed forces.
CPO Dave Casewell, careers advisor for the Royal Navy, said: “We are looking for fit, active people who want a challenging career and we want to talk to anybody who thinks they meet the fitness and medical criteria.
“The tri-service environment offers different careers in different situations and we are looking for people with a whole range of qualities and skills.”
Young and old alike flocked to the fair last year keen to kickstart their careers in a whole host of trades and crowds are expected to pour through the doors.
Wolverhampton’s 107.7 The Wolf was recently named as the media partner of JCT 2007 and Walsall Training Centre has also been announced as one of the exhibitors at the event, on the lookout to recruit more people to pick up skills in a host of trades.
Steve Edis, centre manager, said: “There is a lot of interest currently from people who want to change career. We offer part-time, full-time and weekend courses so that people can learn a new skill while staying in their current employment,” he said. The event will be held on October 3 and 4. Admission is free.
