Eves bags loan deal for Palmer

eves.jpgWillenhall boss Mel Eves has snapped up midfielder Steve Palmer on loan - as he prepares to hands out up to five debuts at Evesham tomorrow.

Palmer has arrived at Noose Lane from AFC Telford and is expected to go straight into the team tomorrow for the Southern One Midlands opener.

He is due to be joined by defenders Ross Brown and Liam Newell, and striker Tyrone Barnett, while Eves will have to choose between Steve Jackson and Ryan Price in goal.

And Eves believes the Lockmen couldn’t have been given a tougher opening day fixture than face a side that finished just one place below them last season.

“It will be a very difficult game,” said Eves.

“And we will know exactly where we are afterwards in terms of our preparations because they will be very strong as always.”
