Big move-in at homes scheme

wrekin-housing.jpgA new affordable housing development is Stone has now been completed at Brindley Moor, Tilling Drive, in the town.

The final phase has seen five two-bedroom houses and a two-bedroom apartment being built for rent, while the one-bedroom apartment available for shared ownership has already been sold.

Tenants have now received keys to their new homes at the estate developed by the Wrekin Housing Trust, Shropshire’s largest landlord.

The trust has worked in partnership with Persimmon Homes to provide the new homes which complete the development, a mile from the centre of Stone.

The Trust has worked with Stafford & Rural Homes to offer the homes for rent and now all five homes are occupied.

Matthew Hodson and Hannah Yaxley, two of the first people to move in said: “We’re really excited and happy to be moving into a new house.

“Before we were in a small flat which wasn’t suitable for a family.

“In the new house we’ve got lots more space and a garden for our son to play in. It’s great.”

The completion of the development follows more affordable homes at the nearby Crossings development in Stafford, where the Trust has again been working in partnership with Persimmon Homes.Ê

Andy Johnson, general manager at the trust said: “This is an exciting development for the Wrekin Housing Trust, especially as it has been the first of a number of new schemes for us outside of the Telford area.

“We had a great response when the homes in the first phase of the Brindley Manor development were ready and have had great feedback from the residents who have already moved in.”
