Top tips for big-day photos

Couples getting married at Shugborough in Staffordshire will be able to share the photographic tips of the late Lord Patrick Lichfield.

The world renowned photographer famously immortalised the Prince and Princess of Wales’ wedding and was always keen to share his photographic knowledge with others.

Now the estate has compiled a list of his most useful hints to help couples ensure their wedding album is filled with fond memories.

Every bride and groom booking their big day at the Stafford venue will receive a list of Lord Lichfield’s photographic guidelines as part of their wedding package.

His top tips include turning the mother-of-the-bride into a project manager and standing three quarters facing the camera for a more flattering image.

He also recommends ensuring children are in the first photographs – before their wedding outfits become muddy and stained.

Louise Jones, marketing manager said: “We hope this added touch will help ensure not only their wedding day goes without a hitch, but also they’ll have the photographs to match the occasion.”

Shugborough offers wedding ceremonies in its saloon overlooking the riverside setting of the formal gardens and more intimate ceremonies can be held in the parkland folly, The Tower of the Winds.
