Snapshots of Coseley with views from the town’s past have been compiled by a historian.
Beryl Wilkes, who has written three heritage books on the town, has produced a set of 16 postcards to celebrate.
A highlight of the collection is a black and white photograph of Roseville Square from the 1960s showing the civic centre before the buildings were demolished.
Attractive shots of beauty spots such as Ladymoor Pool and the reservoir at Parkes Hall also feature, along with a map showing the old boundaries of the now-defunct Coseley Urban District Council.
The postcards will be on sale in town stores at 65p each and are also available through the post.
Mrs Wilkes, who also produces a successful set of calendars for the town each year, said the card collection was a way for Coseley people to stay connected with their heritage.
“The idea is to put Coseley on the map and back into people’s minds,” she said.
“Nowadays, the bit of Coseley that’s under Wolverhampton control seem not to think they have any connection with Coseley, while other parts are in Sandwell and Dudley.
“Few people realise just how big Coseley was when it had its own council and that’s very upsetting,” she added.
The postcards and calendars are available by calling 01902 491583.
