Beyonce stormed into the NEC last night and showed just why she is one of the biggest stars in the world.
There has been some criticism that she has given up her music career for movie stardom but when she launched into classics such as Crazy In Love and Baby Boy, it became clear that it is the music which drives her.
Recent album B’day may have been a bit of a damp squib but there’s no doubt Beyonce is one of the best performers live, evident from the packed-out venue.
The ex-Destiny’s Child star has clearly taken a few nods from Diana Ross. Beyonce is the star; she has the tracks, the vocals and the moves to put her peers to shame, and the audience were stunned by the energy of the show. She appeared on stage 15 minutes late wearing a silver glittery outfit. Showered by sparks, she kicked off with the song that launched her solo career, Crazy In Love, and a backing band of just women.
The 9,000-strong crowd of mostly mothers and their young daughters definitely had a good night, everyone leaving happy and satisfied including the Destiny’s Child fans who were satisfied with a medley.

I love Beyoncé’s sense of style! I also appreciate the fact that she has become a style icon, with her own fashion label to prove her point.

i went to the concert, and it was absolutely amazing, beyonce is a true diva and beautiful singer!
I was also at the concert thanks to the Express and Star competition to win tickets to the show! What an outstanding performer and great backing band! Really enjoyed the night with wicked seats seven rows from the front! Great atmosphere!
Thanks to the promotions team at the E & S for the opportunity to see a modern day DIVA!
