Despite not opening until next Monday, bosses are giving visitors the chance to take a glimpse of the facilities at the Wolverhampton Swimming and Fitness Centre this week.
And the first eager few were waiting to get a sneak peak inside as the doors opened at 9am this morning.
The centre, which boasts a fun pool, sauna and steam rooms, dance studio and massive fitness suite, is set to transform leisure provision in the area.
Centre manager Damien Watts said: “We just can’t wait to get it open.
“It is an honour to manage such a great facility that is so desperately needed in the area.
“We moved all the furniture in last Friday and that just saw the whole place come together. Everyone’s eyes lit up.
“The staff are now here giving people tours around so they can see all the facilities on offer, and we are expecting around 100 people a day to come along.”
Pete Williams, from Wednesfield, was one of the first people inside and gave the site the thumbs-up.
“It looks absolutely fantastic,” he said. I used to have a membership at Healthland over the road but this looks much better. I really am impressed.”
The facilities will be open at noon next Monday and Wolverhampton Mayor Councillor John Davis will perform the official opening ceremony at 3pm the same day.
