West Bromwich Albion claim they are on the brink of opening talks with Hibernian manager Tony Mowbray, making him the favourite for the Hawthorns hotseat.
The Baggies announced today that they expect to begin talks with Mowbray “in the next 24 hours”.

A West Brom statement said the club expects “to receive confirmation from Hibernian” later today that they have been given permission to speak to Mowbray following talks on Wednesday night.
Hibernian chairman Rod Petrie said: “The club’s discussions with West Bromwich Albion continued late into the evening and an accommodation has been reached which will be confirmed in writing.
“Given the manager’s desire to speak to West Bromwich Albion and the fact that compensation has now been agreed, West Bromwich will reluctantly be given permission to speak to Tony.”
