Comedian Don Maclean and 1980s pop heroes Go West will be lighting up Wolverhampton and surrounding districts when they perform the grand switch-on this Christmas.
Council bosses are hoping actress Lesley Joseph, who is starring in the Grand Theatre panto with funnyman Maclean, will have time in her hectic schedule to join in as well.
Apprentice star Ruth Badger - who revealed to the Express & Star earlier this year it was her childhood dream to switch on the lights - was asked to do the honours but is abroad.
This year £60,000 has been spent upgrading the lights so that the displays will be more spectacular than ever.
Wolverhampton city centre’s switch-on will take place on November 15, with an evening extravaganza for all the family.
